yeah it was out of character but it was still very vicious, i am going to be very very pissed if there is not a rematch... it would be a fantastic fight

did anyone else think Withers didnt appear to be in that good of shape?

I thought he looked nervous as well. He didnt want any part of looking Ammann in the eye before the fight and he had a few REALLY deep breaths just before the bell started. Apparently these two have been scheduled to fight again a few times with Withers pulling out each time the week before. I think he looked for a way out personally.

I agree Gonzo, Withers didn't look in top shape so maybe he looked to do the business early. No excuse for the elbow.

Yeah it could have been a combination of his toughest fight to date and the fact that it was on free to air.

Like you said Gonzo Withers face said it all. He knew what he did & it was deliberate as hell. Only he knows why he did it. Instant disq for me.

Agree on both counts - Have seen McCracken before and has impressed. Looked very tentative early this time though - obviously aware that an early mistake against Vea would lead to sleep. No questioning his overall willingness or courage.

There's plenty to like about Vea - fast, straight hands, power etc.

Withers' elbows (there were two in the one flurry) were absolutely deliberate IMO - probably over-hyped at the time - but still stupid.
