So I'm guessing this is still on for September in one of Skys new Saturday shows :good It provides a great story to how far Booth has come after all his problems, he may not have deserved his shot but I'm delighted he is getting on, he didn't look his usual self in his last fight IMO but hes performed very well in fights before that to lead me to believe he has a good chance. I last saw Molitor getting demolished against Caballero in 4 rounds so I don't know how good he has looked recently, I might have to find a copy of Molitor-Ndlouv....anyone seen it? Its gonna be an interesting tactical battle....2 very accurate fighters who although don't hold much power, they still have enough to keep their opponents honest. Who wins?
september 11th. I think Molitor is to much for Booth and will stop him late on. it will be competative for the first 6 rounds. it will be a bit like gavin rees agaisnt kotelnik. a good effort but in the end out classed. would have preferd to see booth get his title shot at the lower weigh.....although that is a **** hot division right now.
Both good technical boxers. Great variety of shots to the head and body, good footwork, good hand speed, great boxing brain etc. Molitor has looked to have slipped since he demolished Hunter over here (although I haven't seen his 2nd fight with Ndlovu either), but I still think he has enough to beat Booth. He might just to prove to be that much physically stronger and win a decision IMO. But what a great fight for fans of the sweet science, and as a big Booth fan I really hope he pulls it off.
At this weight I do not fancy Booth doing anything at world level...a weight or two below and he could be a serious contender so saying I would be surprised if he found a win in this fight is a huge understatement but best of luck to him. I think Molitor wins late TKO.
Molitor for me. Booth is an excellent fighter and looks very classy at this level but Molitor is a big step up in skills and speed compared to what he's been facing. Booth should be competitive though since Molitor has little power.
I honestly think Booth takes this. Molitor hasnt looked good for a while now. Caballero isnt this superstar that people make him out to be but he destroyed molitor. molitor was then hurt and dropped by jose saez ( ranked 11 in Argentina) before winning on points.At the time 7 of saezs 8 losses were by ko but molitor couldnt hurt him. The fight with ndlouv was close but ndlouv aint nthing special. While the weight suits molitor better I think hes on a downward spiral and booth is catching him at the right time
Agree about caballero and he destroyed molitor. I think super-bantamweight is better for him than bantam tbh tho, mainly because juanma, rafa etc have moved up and donaire is moving to bantam. I think the 'new' booth will have 1 of them nights where everything happens for him, I hope so anyway
Caballero would still hammer a guy like Booth so I don't think its particularly relevant. You're holding a far higher standard of fighter against Molitor and its not particularly fair in this instance when he's fighting a guy thats only fought at a much lower level. Caballero isn't a good fundamental fighter but his ring presence and output is formidable at these weights.
maybe so but I also mentioned the saez fight. he isnt even national title level in argentina but managed to drop and hurt molitor. He had lost 7 of his 8 fights by ko but molitor couldnt wobble him. also the ndlouv fight was much closer this time round than their original meeting. Im just saying I think molitor is on the slide, although I still think booths best weight is bantam I think hes getting molitor at the right time.
While i'm happy for Booth that he's getting a title shot, what must someone like Jamie Moore be thinking? He was far more deserving of a world title shot and even had the same promoter didn't he?
