Only just nicked it by all accounts against Ward? Anyone see it? On this basis it doesnt look like he will be threat to Framton or Quigg anytime soon.
jazza is a very dedicated kid and I'm sure if he is matched right will get his chance at euro and world titles but his style was very amateur based and imo heh is still adapting to the pro game. heh isn't ready just now for quiz and frampton but I'm pretty sure they will both move up soon and then jazza should be ready tp step up to world level just after that.
i thought ward won the fight by a couple of rounds, jazza cut wards leading eye with the head so that made things difficult for ward and done the other eye later in the contest the cleaner punching certainly came from ward imo and was makin jazza miss regularly but credit to both boxers because the fight was wasted by only being watched by the folk in attendance that was a FOTY candadate easy. A rematch would be fitting and both lads to be paid well
After Kid Galahad got banned by mind shot back to the Jazza fight. You never know what Jazza was up against that night, that result will always have a cloud over it for me. Delighted for Jazza that he has kept moving forward after that setback and is now British champion.
Met Jazza when he was fighting on the Hatton Senchenko bill, came across like a real top lad. Happy that he's British champ - all the best to him.
Thanks Billy. Would've liked to see that fight. Hope they do it again Colwell TV or VIP TV type channel would be good to show this. Or a spin off from IFL - no professional cameraman or commentary just keep the camera running and upload to YouTube for fans. If they find a gem like the ****ens fight sounds may get more publicity
i saw that your boxer lewis ritson was also boxing on the card against the very busy youseff al hamidi but don't you think that youseff was too small for a big lightweight like lewis? lewis could easily be a light welterweight and imo a fight against youseff who normally boxes featherweight/super featherweights will have done him no good.
in fairness we used the fight as part of the training for his 10 round fight on Friday, however it backfired a tad has he got a slightly bruised hand which I'm happy to say has healed very quickly Lewis wanted quite rightly to fight in front of his fans in the North East so we got the most suitable opponent given he was fighting this week as well This lad will be very very good and is already proving it will much more experienced fighters in the gyms
ps Yousef was slightly heavier, Lewis makes light weight no problem but I agree he was massive compared to his opponent on Friday
****ens is with Frank but I think Ward's promoter won the purse bid so that's why this wasn't on TV. I'm not entirely sure why Jazza isn't on more Boxnation bills as he's always good to watch.
who does he box on friday? is that the first lock stock show? and will lock stock run shows in other parts of scotland like edinburgh etc
