Taylor got stunned at the end of the 10th I believe, and was out of it since that point. His warrior spirit kept him up and throwing punches.

:deal You are right on:good I was :patsch when i heard this guy say Taylor won every round ! Taylor was definitly ahead on points, but he did take the worst punishment, I agree that thread maker doesnt know how to notice those things in a fight or was listening to the bias announcing in the fight or he just didnt watch the fight.
I usually reply with the same statement as you Chris Pointus when people complain about the stoppage.

he was just fighting on heart and instinct at that point on. Chavez didn't land much throughout the fight but the few times he touched Taylor, it was destructive. did you see when Chavez would get in on Taylor, in the late rounds. Taylor would wrap up chavez and in doing so would rest his face on top of Chavez head and dribble pools of blood, then pull away and throw some quick shots. when Chavez would get tagged you could see globs of blood fly off JCC's head. it looked like his brain was shooting out his crainium. but it was the blood Taylor was leaving on Julios head. was

You say Chavez didnt land much throughout:huh:lol: Chavez was very accurate and although he was outlanded 2to1 he was doing way more damage. Take a look at the fight again when the sound off.

Another clue that will tell you Chavez landed more than you say he did was just look at Taylors face after the fight :!:and take a look at Chavezs:p Chavez had one small nick on his nose.

it was interesting, but as you say, very one sided and biased. What I find scandalous is their attack on referee Richard Steele's integrity and them making him out to be incompetent when nothing could be further from the truth. I have nothing but respect for the man, that documentary was a hatchet job on one of the best referees of the modern era.

It's just a lot of people whining: "it's not fair, he was so close". well, life's a ***** and the facts are yes, he was close, but he lost. The end.

I remember watching that fight when it happened. what i remember most is seeing one man putting on a great boxing performance, and imo clearly winning the fight. while at the same time seeing severe damage being inflicted on that same fighter.
jcc breakdown of taylor was subtle but brutal. without listening to the hbo crew, it is noticeable. every shot chavez landed exacted a toll on taylor. i had taylor winning the fight at the time of the stoppage, but had no problem with steeles decision. and i am not a jcc fan by any stretch of the imagination.
taylor did not respond and it was inside the limit. using the excuse that there were only x amount of seconds left and taylor should have been allowed to finish is unfair to chavez. a fight is 12 rounds long not 11 rounds 2 min and 56 seconds.

I dont think it was a bad stoppage. Taylor was in big trouble and it doesnt matter whether he was winning and the fight was seconds away from finished the ref done his job.

    exactly......thanks for bringing that up

chavez landed that punch at the 17-16 mark...if taylor would've been able to continue (which he wasn't) it would've had to been at the 7-6 mark....that's more than enough time to land a brutal, and I MEAN BRUTAL combination that would've probably killed taylor in that ring.....

some of you are ****en idiots

he's a ref, not a ****en traffic director...who gives a **** about red lights and what they mean...in a fight like that you dont have time to think about nothing but a fighters health...

Do you know what happened to Taylor after the fight? He was almost dead. Loss of blood was awful!

Nothing wrong or controversial with the stoppage at all...its just unfortunate for Taylor that it was so close to the end after the effort he gave.
