Jean Pascal VS. Lucian Bute

Since there are very few A level contenders, that is not so bad, hater.

 

And I believe the appropriate word would be B level Champion.....not contender.

He's never lost to a B level opponent, although if he loses to Pascal he might. If this were 1970 and the Andrade fight was a 15 rdr, he may have, but up until today, 1-4-14, Lucian Bute is undefeated vs Blevel fighters and below.:deal

IDK about you, but even with his flaws, that still makes him an A lister IMO.:thumbsup

 

Pascal by late KO between rds 8-10

 

Pascal has always had stamina problems and fights in spurts, can't sustain his offense. Pascal is not hard to hit, that's what makes this fight so interesting.

 

yeah, probably his mental is not the same as it was after the Bika, Andrade II or Johnson fights but the simple fact that Bute put a very good performance in the Andrade II fight shows me that Bute has the ability to recover from a bad performance and come back stronger.

Wladimir K. was T.K.O'd by Puritty (11), Sanders (2) and Brewster (5) and then he came back stronger and won big fights. So theres hope. :good

 

Pascal is iron chinned but has stamina issues. I see pascal winning by mid round KO... But bute can take it if he lands some hard body shots leaving pascal out of gas... Pascal is a 4 round fighter...dude has too much muscle mass for his own eratic style....after round 4 his capabilities are significantly less

 

You can't be an A lister when you've feasted on B-level guys your whole career and then when you step up to A level, get destroyed like Bute did.

 

I don't put Bute on an A list for the moment. Even if he beats Pascal, I'm not sure I would. My A lists are short. I guess it depends of how we make our lists.

 

Why are people so high on Pascal? Have they paid any attention to his career?

Before the Dawson fight he was seen as a mid-level contender, nothing special. When Dawson woke up after the cut he started busting Pascal up and the fight was stopped early to declare Pascal the winner and he's fought once a year since, looking bad against his only top 10 opponent in Hopkins. Where is this great fighter? The Diaconu wins?

Take away the Dawson and Hopkins fights, and Bute would be getting criticized for fighting someone like Pascal.

 

pascal stamina sucks he had hopkins hurt in round 12 but was to tired to finish him of

 

This is a great fight imo, I think Pascal's best bet is to ko Bute in the first 6 but if Bute is still around after 6 he has a great chance, we could see Bute take over late if Pascal's stamina drains. I think my final prediction will be Pascal to win by mid round ko/tko.

 

I don't know who will win, but Pascal's problem is the fact that he has no stamina, not hard to hit either, makes this a good fight to watch.............

I think Bute will UD Pascal and be back somehow in the business.

 

Is this the first fight in Bute's career where he is the underdog ?
