Sounds like emotion talking. I doubt he'll retire.

If he did though, that would be one of the worst finishes in history of such a hyped fighter. Talk about falling apart.

I'd be very surprised if Lacy goes throug with his retirement. He still has a lucrative career ahead of him as he is one of the bigger names at supermiddle and lightheavy. A lot of nice paydays left for Lacy if he wants them. He might not be what he was several years ago, and even then he wasn't what we was being made out to be. But Lacy is a very entertaining fighter has an exciting style with some major flaws. I enjoy Lacy's fights and hope he doesn't retire.

I think it's a good decision by Lacy. He has accomplished good things in boxing and looks like his mind is not in it anymore.

If he's honest about what he has left, he's making the right choice. He looked shot the other night, no reason to stick around and take further damage for a few medium paydays.

    ****in a...

sometimes boxing fans are some of the most dumbass, sour mother****ing dickhead pussies in the world

He retired... and SAID WHY... yet still.. with some mother****ers its

Good... man he was always **** anyways, he sucked in his last fights, he probably retired cuz he wants more money,

    blah blah blah...

    jezus....

    anyways...

Good for him... hes accomplished more then most who follow the sport or are in the sport will ever do, and has made decent money and has been a decent name... though i would have liked to see him regain some lost form and maybe get a decent run going, i understand that thats not always reality. I wish him the best in life outside fighting.

The best thing he could do. He probably re-watched the fight and saw how unimpressive he looked. I wish him the best in his retirement assuming he stay's retired.

I think Lacy will be back eventually, getting paid for boxing sure beats working at the factory or the local McDonald's, that's one of the reasons I think Lacy will be back.

You hardly need to re-watch a fight to know how many times you got hit in the face that you shouldn't have. Fighters get good at lying to themselves, hopefully Lacy will continue his self-honesty.

His career reminds me a bit of David Reid. Hyped early, ran into a beast of a fighter who was a cut better and administered a beating, after which was a quick decline of skills and speed, although granted Reid had more boxing ability.

There has to be something outside of the ring that led him to this. This quote here really tells me there's something beyond his recent performances:

"This is a very dirty business. I would advise anyone who has kids not to ever let them fight in this business"

its not surprising to see him retire after the kind of shoulder injury he went through. aLot of fighters would not even have tried to get back in the ring

Thats what i was thinking. Some one may have stolen some of his money or something like that. I think people on here are to hard on Lacy. I dont think he looked that bad in his last fight until he got tired. He still managed to get the win.

Someone mentioned on here that he had money problems is this true or, are they just speaking out of their asses? Because if he had money problems i dont see him quitting.
