I voted for Jennings when Ortiz was leading on the poll and of course I'll give Ortiz credit, Jennings is by far his best opponent and possibly top 5 heavyweight. Jennings just seems like the better fighter in better condition and tho he isn't a big puncher, if Ortiz isnt careful, Jennings still has enough to hurt him. Rarely have I seen Ortiz go the distance Idk how he will be in the later rounds. Ortiz fights very aggressive, which is a style the heavyweight division badly needs and has been missing for years, but we just don't know how good he really is cuz he hasn't faced anyone.

Hoping for Ortiz. Cooler style.

 

Well we're going to find out what Ortiz is really made of. Knocking out cab drivers and torta peddlers isn't a good measuring stick for seeing how someone will do against Jennings.

 

I've watched some fights with Ortiz. He has some serious skills, will take the center of the ring, Jennings has to jab from the back foot all night. Ortiz left counter is deadly.

 

Also: Ortiz wont gas out.

 

Definitely Ortiz the King Roid has some very good hands and pretty good speed. Jennings is decent but his offence against wlad was basically leaping in head first nothing else.

 

I hope Ortiz dyes his hair blond again and comes into the ring looking like Simon Phoenix.

 

I think Ortiz troubles him a bit early, because he throws that left at different speeds, power and angles. but Ortiz has heavy feet and is a plodder, Jennings I can see moving and boxing to a wide one.

 

Ortiz more or less relies on primarily spamming one punch. Jenning's has an extremely tight guard. If Wlad had the majority of his straights blocked why wouldn't Jennings be able to nullify Ortiz's best weapon here, especially with a new and superior trainer?

 

Ortiz is a favourite for reasons unbeknownst to me. Jennings is about 10 times more proven.

 

To me Ortiz seems to have good footspeed in bursts. He is quite heavy due so he wont dance around that much. The way he boxes screams confidence. He wont gas out in the end. He control his breath really good and will pace himself exactly as he want against Jennings.

Jennings do got a 5 inch reach advantage so he might beat him to the jab. But i don't think Jennings would try to load up against Ortiz due to the fact that Ortiz is a really good combination puncher with smart and timed powerful shots.

Good chin or not, i wouldn't trade with Ortiz if i were Jennings. And Ortiz is much more willing to take risks and trade shots than Wladimir.

I'm going with the gorilla. My favorite American fighter for sure.

 

Because Ortiz is much more willing to throw his punches in combinations. You can block'em one at a time but in combinations one of them will always sneak in behind the guard.

 

As opposed to anyone else who was shorter than Wladimir that's had success in the last decade. Everyone leaped in, dude. Steward developed the whole style to fight shorter guys and keep them at bay.
Jennings wins this. A good showing against Wlad goes a long way with self confidence.
I doubt Ortiz would have done as well.
