Wasn't it Burns who got Taylor to the top? After Burns is when JT fell off. There was a recent article in the Arkansas Gazzette about a possible return to Burns.

I think Floyd Sr could really help improve Taylor's countering skills. Floyd Sr. may never be trainer of the year - but he's a damn good boxing coach. Taylor should hire him on.
It was a disaster at the Froch fight. His corner told him to go out and win the final rounds, they should have been telling him to hold, dance. He could have taken a knee. TERRIBLE decisions by his corner and terrible strategy. If he wasn't such an honest and down to earth guy he also could have punched Froch in the balls to get a rest, or pulled Frochs arm down and feign being punched in the balls (ala Hopkins) Surely his corner must know about their boxer and know that he struggles with stamina problems. Why the hell did they tell him to go out and win the last 2 rounds! He needs to fire all of his corner men and do something drastic. I think Mayweather Senior may be the man. Taylor needs his ass kicked BIG TIME by someone who will get him fired up and get him to believe in himself - look at Ricky Hatton, he believes in himself so much I actually think he may beat Manny. At the end of the day...it's not like Ricky Hatton. He doesn't need to be taught how to box. Taylor has EVERYTHING, hand speed, footwork, head movement etc. He just needs someone to make him run an extra 10miles and spar for 100 rounds! That's all!
You can say what you want about Mayweather Sr. but you cant deny he's a top notch trainer that gets his message across....I understand how you feel about him but no one can take away his ability to train fighters. He does a good job.

All Jermain needs to do is quit worrying about knocking people out, and learn how to fire and clinch, run, fiddle, and spoil for the final third of a fight. That's it! He also needs a corner that knows when he has a fight in the bag, and understands how to handle it. What the **** was he doing trying to take Froch out in the 11th? Without those heavy exchanges the 12th would have been completely different, and Froch would be begging JT for a rematch. I am certain Nazim could teach JT how to do the things I mentioned!
Nope...but what I am saying is that people come at you different when you are the champion. His fights got harder if not the competition.
I like Naz...but Taylor needs a fiery coach...Manny was ok, but not in his ass enough. JT is not a mean dude in the ring...he's all gentleman. He needs that bad cop type trainer around him.
I think Floyd is overrated as a trainer. I think Emanual Steward is the guy who could help Jermaine, but they had a falling out. I am not sure much will help Jermaine except maybe working on stamina and getting one of those guys like Evander had Max Shilstone or whatever his name was. Someone who can expand his stamina late in fights. Also a good strategist, but Emanual was good at that.
