Jermaine Taylor needs Nazeem!

Jermaine is one of the dumbest fighters i've seen, the dude has no boxing IQ

circling into power punches, walking back to the ropes no clinching when out of gas against a determined but slow and seriously flawed fighter in Froch

And to get KO'd with a few seconds to go when clearly winning the fight, this man needs to know how to pace himself, employ better tactics and just more smarts in the ring

this man needs Nazeem Richardson!

 

Well he did have manny steward as a coach, and that did not help too much.

 

The worrying thing for Taylor is that he couldn't pace himself through a fight that wasn't especially torrid.

 

jermain taylor needs so much work on his skill set that it would be impossible to rebuild him....

 

i didnt have high hopes for taylor in this fight anyway after squeeking past a shot jeff lacy last time out but he surprised me, it was a decent performance, better than froch's by far apart from the finish. but i dont think it was a pace problem either. taylor knew he had the fight in the bag and was coasting through the last round and got careless and was genuinely hurt. it was the right decision to stop the fight. he was ****ed, and would have been knocked out.

 

I was thinking about this as well. I say Jermaine gives it one more go with Nazim, and hey, he might learn some stuff from Hops also.

I think the skills are there for Jermaine, but its the lack of focus and the motivation.

 

Considering he was the former undisputed middle weight champ he has some boxing IQ ..Its his stamina thats the issue. You can't be too effective if your out of steam ..I beleive Roach would be a better fit becaue he could help with his conditioning but Nazim would not be a bad chocie either ..I would prefer Roach ..But thats me ..

 

if he had Richardson last night they would have caught Froch putting bricks in them wraps~

Where are you Richardson?~ really Taylor doesnt need Nazim seriously he just needs to go back down to middleweight.

 

I agree that stamina is the basic problem but I'm not sure either trainer could do much about it. The guy just doesn't seem to have it in him.

 

its just the wrong head on the right shoulders

seeing someone like taylor makes you realise the difference that the right trainer/corner makes to a fighter and fight, i don't think Taylor gets KO'd if he has someone like nazim in the corner

i don't think he can think for himself in a fight, but he'll listen to every word of his corner

 

He was able to floor a fighter who has never been down ..Taylor has the the ability and the know how he just has a half empty gas tank ..

 

i've got a theory on Taylor's stamina problems
