Jermall Charlo to defend WBC title against...Maciej Sulecki

Char is probably getting 3-4 mil. No incentive to fight better comp. As long as these guys make big money fighting this level of opposition we won't get the big fights.

Yea Showtime should have rejected the opponent. Say we are happy to have middleweight charlo headlining a card and paying, but it needs to be an acceptable opponent, otherwise we will be looking at other options.

that’s kinda facts when Loma was asked about it he said it’s politics, Loma in my top 5 favorite current fighters but dude swerved out of facing Haney just like Kambosos is holding up that fight right now

 

PBC & Shotime wasting both Malll & Tank’s Talents.

Sulecki is Boo-Boo’s & Danny Jacobs leftovers.
There is absolutely no reason that they:

A. Couldn’t reach out to Danny Jacob’s
For a fight he would be a perfect common opponent to build the road to Canelo especially if he KO’d him.

B. They should have worked with DAZN for the Munguía fight on a co-promotion PPV split with Shotime taking the lion A-$ide share of course.

Sulecki fight is trash.

& so is Rolly Romero fight for Tank.

I thought so too.

Both Munguía & Mall Charlo wanted that fight. they both signed their contracts.

The sticking point was golden boy & DAZN wanted to co-promote the PPV in the US.

Shotime said no & counter offered the exclusive rights to the UK & MeXico broadcast & if Munguía wins they would allow them to host the next PPV rematch on DAZN.
So the deal fell through.

Hearn said the same thing, that whenever they he has tried to make fights showtime no matter what will not do a shared TV deal with DAZN.

It's BS from showtime and its childish.

 

Another thing I am not understanding is:
I thought Macei Sulecki was a DAZN fighter, at least I have seen him fight several times on DAZN against DAZN fighters.
Perhaps he is a freelance / free agent.

truth Is they are “afraid” or lack the confidence to move Charlo in a manner that would put him in the best position to not only attain the Canelo fight ,
but also not putting him in the best position to actually win that fight against Canelo should he ever be gifted the fight by Canelo.

Canelo moved up in weight & fought 4 times last year.
Once against a mandatory & 3 more times to beat all of the belt holders to become undisputed.

Charlo fights once a year.
Last year he fought Juan Montiel

this year he fights Macei Sulecki

I ask y’all how the hell is this preparing him to beat the likes of Charlo’s own self admitted “pound for pound best “ in Canelo?

in football there is a term when a team plays prevent defense or ball control offense.
It’s called “Playing not to lose” problem is all to often that prevents them from actually winning.

In the ring it’s called boxing to survive or not get Knocked out.
Same results it typically don’t win rounds & you lose the fight.

that is how Charlo’s career is being moved at the moment & he is 31.
Shotime & PBC are doing his legacy dirty.

 

This fight sucks and his last fight sucked but it brings the question who?

Golovkin and Murata are locked up with each other, if Golovkin wins he's going to Canelo
Andrade is chasing Canelo and not available.
He already fought Derev.
Munguia falling through you can't blame either fighter, that's the promotions trying to exert power over the other.

So who else is there? Honestly. Would everyone really be happy if he fought Adames? I can hear the grumbling if he did.

So yeah, the fight isn't a good one at all, I don't like it, but in context it's either that or continue to stagnate.

The Charlos should've went with Hearn, he was clearly interested in both for a time.

Look at his brother fighting for undisputed unification. Same network, however different division who just so happen to have the belt holders under one network.

It’s Oscar’s fault for being such a coked up loser.
Lost a lot of his stable Who if you remember Mall & the rest of the PBC stable were on at one point.

this splintering off actually made things worse in Charlo’s scenario… hell in Tank’s too!
(Although a lil bit different circumstances for Tank but same “in-house” network problems)

Sure they are paid; however, their legacies are being destroyed & that’s church.
