Jerry Quarry had a very pleasing style. Displaying his counter punching skills, the Thad Spencer stoppage was one of his best wins. Then there was his lightning despatch of Jack Bodell who had easily beaten Joe Bugner. Can remember, while away on holiday, with no TV access, standing watching his first fight with Frazier then later, Shavers in TV shop windows.

Do you understand what comprehension means?

If so you must understand that your comprehension of my post is incorrect hence the issues you have with the comprehension.

Read the post you was replying to again and see if you can spot your error.

For the record, I do not class Ali as a short stint champion.

I watched all of Quarry's bouts in the NY area live from 1971 on. Plus his televised bout. The guys was tough and he had skills. However he failed at the highest level primarily because he took too many punches.

He was to small for that era and the Cruiserweight division came too late for him.
Sadly, he was also horribly mismanaged by his father. I don't think he gets his due.

2.29 DAYS! (Spock from Star Trek)

Quarry was like a Champion for his time - WHY?? Because every Heavyweight in the division wanted to fight him like the Champion win or lose! Why? 1- You were going to make up to $50 or $60 grand when gas was 40 cents a gallon, 2- If you defeated Quarry you were really in the dough! And looking at an immediate World Title shot, So he had to be pretty good for sometime during his career!

Forget Quarry, be more Idiusyncratic ok?? your Idyllic Right?? or maybe infinitesimac? Come on be more Pedantic!
You know what i'm talking about obviously, right?- Wanna be a MF -I'LL SHOW YOU HOW?
Quarry had bomb threats when he went to London! Then He bombed Bodell in 64 seconds! their triple champion!
So I know he was a contender for at least 64 seconds!
