I don't think he may've been able to upset Foreman at all. Not with that defense.

Whether the fight is 12 or 15 rounds is not so important.
If Jerry Quarry failed to advance beyond the seventh round in the fight with Chuvalo; he would not be able to make it to the 13th round in the fight with Lewis.

No I don’t think Jerry would’ve upset Foreman either.

I was focused in on the comment that Jerry’s successes against the bigger guys were due to the latter being slow - Lewis wasn’t slow and he brings a lot more to the tables besides.

I also don’t think that Foreman was slow and George would also be bring more than to the table - more than the bigger guys Jerry beat.

For one thing, I could see Foreman negating and lining Jerry up big time with the old push/shove routine - which he used to great effect vs both Chuvalo and Frazier.

Excellent analysis. Quarry is very overrated imo. The punchers he beat, Foster, Lyle, Shavers, etc were all extremely limited. Off the top of my head, I’d favor Cleveland Williams, Ruddock, especially Wilder, among others.

Is this a handicap match. It might be more even if you let the Quarry Brothers fight alternate rounds to ensure they're fresh.
