RB i respect you. I know Flamengo has had some arguements with you and i was inclined to agree with Flamengo. You make perfect sense you sacrificed your time and people expect you to help them at a click of there fingers and you have spent time and money. I respect that. I have a passion for collecting fights aswell just aint got the money, for reasons i have stated i think if i did get a collection id try to open it to the public but hey i wont know till it happens. If i won the lottery or something id maybe buy a heap of fights as hey you go the money from the lottery easy so easy come easy go
I havn't said its "evidence", its just my opinion (and Raging Bull seems to agree with me) that at least some of the reason that rare fights stay rare is that collectors like to keep hold of them. Do you disagree with that?
When you're young there's nothing wrong with noble deeds, it's commendable, but in the real world bizzness is bizzness & it's all about supply & demand & who controls what, an example is the Michael Jackson beatles back catalogue, he'll sell those records over & over 2 various companys be it xmas cd's or if a tune is used in a james bond movie, in effect it's a warehouse. Big fights inc actually have invested a small fortune in collecting/saving/preserving films from fights that would otherwise have been long gone destroyed or taped over ect, so many ov the old vintage fights were made on film that decays after 30+ years or less depending on how they were stored/looked after, it's no different 2 the fight poster produced at the MGM for the Hatton/Pacman fight, 1000 were produced but in 10 years time proberbly no more than 100 will exist in any sort of good condition. Big fights inc will be realising a huge amount of pre/war archieve fight footage in around 15 months, there has been a hold up due 2 the usual yank litigation/suing from other company's claiming rights & part ownership ect & this can take years 2 resolve. You should try & see if Steve Lott who is a vice president of BIG FIGHTS inc is on Tyson Talk website, he usually appears on there once every couple of months too do a Q/A format, by the Way, STEVE LOTT was an original member of the MIKE TYSON management & friend/roommate of Mike's, he has all the answer's. But remember it's just like the water/electricity companies, they invest, they produce & you pay, just like ESPN/BIGFIGHTs inc, you can access their library & purchase any fight or amount of fights for a fee of coarse, so don't believe all this shite from some of these idiots/conspiricy theary dreamers that someone just wants 2 hold back fights from the public 4 the glory of owning it, thats absolute **** 4 brains ****** nonsence, the people who control the rights 2 the boxing film archievs/collections are in biz ov making them all available 2 you 4 a PRICE:good Don't forget 2 checkout Tyson Talk OK.
Gaz i uploaded some rare stuff didnt i? enoy them there good stuff, ill try get some more up i think i have some more Locche highlights and a few more Lynch fights. Ill upload more Pep aswell.
ABSOLUTLY, just more conspiricy theary, i've allready posted a reply covering most of this point, there's aload more i could say but it'd only be legal jargon, but basicly there's massive ongoing court case with regard 2 who owns what & who gets what cut, it's a ****in nightmare, you've got 2 realise that this is a billion $$$$ set up, people forget where all yer "still" photo images come from which are used from everything like TV advertising on Cars/films/Milk you name it, it's massive money, no one wants 2 lock anything away as it's $$$$ suicide & frankly pointless. Just expand yer mind a little on this issue ov advertising rights & then you'll see a bigger picture, no offence intended & i don't want 2 appear arrogant, but the man in the street would never think of the consept i've just scratched on, get my drift:think
So you tell me to "expand my mind" and then say you don't want to appear arrogant? Sorry mate thats ridiculous..... I'm not pretending to be a world expert on fight films, but I'm pretty sure there are collectors sitting on rare films just to keep them rare, I'm not saying whether them doing this is right or wrong. Thats all I've said in any of my posts in this thread but yet you seem intent on trying to argue with me or patronise me. Read my 3 previous posts in this thread again and tell me what I've said thats so unreasonable?
On second reading thats most arrogant, pompous and self deluded paragraph I've seen posted on ESB in a long while. You are indeed a really "special" boxing fan.....
With you's too i can undertsand that people do not want to share, just due to the fact if you do share, then the person who recieves the fights may then start to sell these once hidden fights. There are many people who once trade all of a sudden start selling/and earning a profit at someone elses trade/expense
"Expand my mind" is just a turn of phrase & was put 2 you as a positive & not a negative so just take a jump out of that inferiorty/victim complex you treasure so much & take a walk into the light.
Indeed i am, my post was written with the one & only purpose of helping you out, now if you wish 2 retain yer conspiricy thearies then fine by me, but you'd do well in future not too read negative's into everything that you read or you'll just end up flippin burgers for the rest of yer life, i've taken yer age into account with this reply as no doubt you are young & have a long way 2 go.
Yep, thats human nature 4 you mate, i think we've all been there at some time in our life when someone takes advantage ov yer generosity or basic decency. I donated/fitted out my local ABA gym wall 2 wall floor 2 ceiling with full-size fight posters, about $2K worth retail, Then one day browsing ebay i saw about 20+ repo/posters for sale & it was the club secretery selling them, jeezus, the neck of some people so now i donate ****-all except 2 raise money 4 charity:good
