I think that had a little to do with the fact that he spent most of the night missing and getting pop-shotted by Young.

Also, are you seriously saying that Foreman almost died?

He was unfocused after losing to Ali, it was too hot in San Juan (of course young had an a/c in the ring)..Don't you know Young didn't really win that fight.

    Jimmy Young's defensive style.
Against a fat, complacent, disinterested aging , Ali ,Young resorted to putting his body through the ropes , and out of the ring, to escape retribution.
When a Bull does that in the Plaza De Toros he is considered to have no appetite for the fray ,and to be looking for a way out.

**** me, how long was Foreman on the deck ? He was up and throwing leather in seconds.
Jesus Christ ! How much mileage are JYs lovers going to squeeze out of that fight?

Wow,ok like I said the only full fight ive seen
is young vs cooney. Im still gonna
check out Foreman Young and when I can.
As well as Lyle Young, which one poster
called a masterclass. So McVey do you
consider Young an elite defense stylist,
one of the best in heavyweight history?

I wouldn't call Young's fights a masterclass in the traditional sense. His style was not overly impressive to the viewer. There was just a cleverness to it, which has to be respected, even if begrudgingly.

Young was a defensive wizard and a good boxer, but he was better suited to be a 200 pounder / Cruiserweight despite the division being non-existant during his prime years as a ringer...... Young was in good shape between 208 to 212 pound, but was a slob up higher at 220.....
