... I guess the career of Marquez is almost done, at least he will not become #1p4p anymore and he have no more super significant wins at the horizon (maybe one of Hatton, Khan, Maliganggi, Valero, Bradley, etc) So how do you compare his career with that of Barrera or Morales .... who are 'almost' completely retired now.
They are about even. One more big win for JMM and he might surpass them. Although Morales might make a splash if he comes back. Maybe he wins a title at 135 or 140.
I think all 3 are really close almost even. I would lean for Barrera over all 3 by a very small margin. He did lose to Marquez, but that was later in his career. Plus Barrera fought better comp throughout. JMM is number 2 because he beat Barrera and was very competitive against Pacquaio. I would go with Morales a close 3rd. Yes he own 1 win over Pacquiao and Barrera, but also lost to both twice. And he never fought Marquez.
He's still in third place. A 4th title might put him over Barrera but he'll need to fight into his fourties to surpass Morales
Personally I feel he was the better of the "four horsemen" (EM, MAB, PAC and JMM). but he was the least fortunate(being ducked for a while, too many close decisions did not go his way, the oldest of the 4, did not have as pleasing a style as the other 3) and on accomplishments I can see a lot of people putting him at the bottom!
Hard to say Barrerra and morales have legends all over their resumes but had bad career finishes. Marquez just started getting his huge wins and it looks good cause its happening right now and finding success at weights that Morales and Barrera never reached
You better rate Marquez higher or he'll make you drink his ****. All jokes aside he might come in 3rd compared to them but is pushing to be higher. It's a tough call.
He had idiot managers that didnt get him bigger fights early on. I dont blame him but his managers. He could have had the fight with Morales but went and fought chris John for 35k. That is his promoters fault cause I know he would have wanted that fight.
