The fight would be at 140, with JMM coming in at around 137. Hope this fight wont happen, but signs are not great, JMM wants to make history, and young Khan wants to eat another Mexican legend up This will be a beatdown from Khan, poor JMM will look old in there, i think Khan will stop him. GBP 3 fight deal with Khan, this will be the 2nd fight, hopefully the 3rd one next year will be vs a real top 140 fighter, bring on that Maidana, Khan will take him to boxing school.
You being serious the only way I see Khan winning is if he does some thing similar to Mayweather did in his fight.
Thanks Ish, good to have you back. I suspect that Khan wouldn't weigh much more than 143 on fight night
Khan has better fitness/stamina than an soon 37yr old JMM. Khan's speed and size will show no respect for JMM timing and countering, Khan will counter him at will due to his fast speed and reach and JMM fading reflexes and timing also being outside his normal weight class. Khan will have a high output, but an output from range, mostly straight punching using full reach and size advantage and keeping a safe distance and working everything off his great long jab. JMM defence has never been great, Khan will mark/cut and hurt his face bad. JMM will get stopped I feel, because at 140 JMM is out of his weight class and Khan is an fighter who uses his size to great effect, as an good well schooled amateur fighter does. Hey mate you should pay me for my breakdown, PM me £5.00 cost
Judging by my criteria, what do you think? I certainly feel hes proved himself more than Khan though.
Khan would get a lot of respect if he fights Marquez at 135, but it isn't gonna happen. He would be a 2 weight champion at age 23 and he would have beaten the #1 guy in that division. I really think he could win this fight at 135.
Cheers Ice :good Anyone have the full HBO footage of Khan-Paulie? They'll have Khan's on the night weight as well. The copy on Youtube starts after the Tale of the Tape just as Buffer starts his thing. Marquez's weight shows how much of a joke the Floyd fight was.
And to be quite honest, its taken Bradley 5 weakish opponents to actually get there after winning his strap. Its funny how he doesn't get the same **** for facing old man career lightweight Campbell or Edner "Super Feather" Cherry. I remember the uproar on here when Khan was mooted to face Cherry a couple of years back and that was at 135...not the same noise when Timmy took him on at 140. Lets get a little balance, JMM is a more dangerous opponent for Khan than anyone Bradley has faced since beating Witter
atsch. JMM is the one who wants to come up and challenge for the title! It's not about Khan coming down and them two fighting. It's about JMM becoming the first Mexican to be a 4-weight world champ, and if Khan moved down, that wouldn't happen.
Marquez's trainer thinks he would get beat up by Khan so he didn't like this idea. He rejected it the 1st time so what has changed since then? Did Marquez beat some 140 guy and realize he can fight at 140? GBP is trying to convince him this is the best fight. Also the money is what would motivate him. He is near the end and he would like get some good paychecks before he calls it a day. That is what this is about. I am not sold on the whole "JMM wants to become a 4 weight champion." It is more about the money than that. Anyways, Khan needs to realize that although he is thinking like a good business man, he is losing respect from boxing fans.
