The only reason Marquez is at 147 lbs is because Pacquiao wont have it any other way. A good part of the reason why Marquez beats Pacquiao every which way is that Pacquiao himself is not a true welter, he's really a lightweight/juniorwelter masquerading and beating the second tier at Welter. Mayweather would absolutely be cherry picking if he'd to face Marquez again at 147 lbs. I think Mayweather would have to drop down to at least 142 lbs for a rematch to have any validity. A fighter like Mayweather who has every physical advantage plus over 4 years of age younger than Marquez cant sacrifice a few lbs in order to narrow the gap and possibly make the fight competitive.
