Which left hook? If you mean the one at 1.12, it wasn't a bad shot but it was like 20 seconds prior to the passage you're referring to! The fighters were broken and Hatton came straight back forward at him. What next, referee shouldn't have made them touch gloves at the start of the last round because fighter got hit by a half decent shot towards the end of the 11th? And no Hatton wasn't doing it every round previously.Hatton (and Lazcano to be fair) were trying to make angles for body shots in every round previously, not blatantly half-turning a guy and whacking him in the back! Goes back to my point really, people will see what their own driven agendas want them to see and as for the rest, what did Eric Cantona say about seagulls and trawlers?
Juan Manuel Marquez UD. Assuming that Hattons extra strength would not be too much of an issue and I do not think it would.
20 seconds If 20 seconds is long, how would you describe the amount of time wasted between "objectively warning" Lazcano and tieing his ****ing lace? 20 seconds is not long in boxing when you are hurt. The additional 30 seconds rest however...
Don't bother talking about Hatton to this fella - he will argue all day and all night. I choose not to bother anymore :deal
Okay let's just agree to differ. Is an interesting point though, if Marquez carris his power up he can hurt Hatton, any more than that I'm not sure.... he has come up from 130 already. Marquez looked superb vs Casa though so who knows...
I know, his bias is infuriating Another interesting point is how slowly the ref "orders" Hatton to the corner (after Hatton had stuck his foot out and begged for a time out). I mean he's hardly ushering him to get a move on is he, Hatton practically strolls like its a day out in Blackpool. And then his corner, what are they doing? Are they tieing a fishermans knot in those those laces? I wouldn't have been suprised to see Foster come behind Hatton and massage his shoulders at this point. It really was a comical scene.
I think you know who I was referring to, and it certainly wasn't him. To be fair, you both make valid points - but Hatton was hardly rescued..... Well I don't think so anyway. With the shoelaces, why not use electric tape to avoid them coming undone??
In this day and age shoe laces should not be coming undone at the most vital moments. Yours is not a bad idea. I would not be suprised if Hatton's boots were remote control operated, and at the click of a button Graham would release the laces. It ought to be regulated along with steroids.
Well when playing rugby and football I used to get sick of laces coming undone, either by other people standing on them or just foot movement loosening them. Ever since then, I would just tie them as strong as I could and then tape them - problem solved. Why not do that in boxing?
Or just not wear boots. If they absolutely must be worn, both parties should agree, just like the size and make of gloves. They should be velcro fastened.
Hatton is too big, too strong, too powerful, too awkward and ultimately a good enough fighter to beat a smaller skilled boxer like JMM.
Why do people obsess on one fight because it suits their point? Hattons fought quite a few decent punchers at 140 and survived, he gets slightly buzzed against the "lightweight" Lazcano (who has been a lt welter for nearly 3 years) and thats the fight that all the discussion centres around, not the Zoo, Maussa, Urango, Collazo fights where Hatton took shots off decent fighters without much problem? And now he's going to get KO'd by JMM? I know where Hatton is concerned TFFP tends to write his posts like he's putting together headlines for one of the tabloids, at best exagerating things and sometimes just making them up, but Hatton got buzzed in a fight. Thats all. It happens in boxing sometimes esp. when you've had 40+ fights.
I've heard that one but I think you need a larger sample size than 2 fights to convict Hatton as being unable to take JMMs punches esp, when the second fight was just as much a KO resulting from being outboxed rather than being unable to take the power. That leaves you with one fight where Hatton was steadied/ buzzed over the course of 12 rounds.
True, but then again the first was against the p4p #1 on his turf at his weight for his belt and it was still a good scrap for the first six until Mayweather's boxing took over. As for Lazcano, well, it must say something that in an apparently unimpressive performance Hatton beat him like nobody else has done since he became a world level contender.
