I wonder if "Pillow-Hands" Paulie will help us answer the question regarding Hatton's chin?:D

**** off!! You picked 2 because it suits you. Lets try 5 or 6 fights eh? Hatton took a lot of good shots against the welterweight Collazo. Zoo, Maussa and Urango are also stiff punchers that failed to score even 1 knockdown against Hatton in over 40 rounds of boxing.

So to support your case you're left with one KO where exhaustion was a (the??) major factor and a 20 second patch in another fight in 6 fights and nearly 70 rounds of boxing.

Thats not even counting the JLC demolition.......:-(;)

Nah, I clearly picked 2 because it is common sense in boxing to look very recently when analysing fights. A year is sensible. But you can have the last 3 if you like, he was still wobbled in 66.6% of those fights

Perhaps this is why I am usually found hovering near the top of prediction leagues, and I don't mean this in an arrogant way ;)

If Hatton was so exhausted after 10 rounds perhaps he's more past it than you let on, and perhaps you are supporting my case even further when it comes to Marquez hurting him. Conditioning is important in punch resistance.

Appeal heard....but the jury has reached their verdict...

    GUILTY as charged.

You REALLY are desparate for Hatton to lose arn't you? You're dragging up junior featherweights to put a dent in a boxer that the top 140 lbers in the world havn't been able to score a single knockdown against over the last 3 years....

I don't particularly care if he wins or loses his next fight. It depends who he is against. Malignaggi is despicable in his own way.

Your problem is it does not matter what the hell he did years ago. Oscar was great years ago. Hatton is going on 30 years old as a brawling type fighter relying on stamina and conditioning, that drinks tons of beer and eats crap, and in his most recent outings which are the most important as I keep mentioning he's been clean knocked out and wobbled badly by an average fighter.

Whereas Marquez looks in absolutely peak form, should have had the nod over Pacquiao, knocked out Casamayor for the first time, a top lightweight that is very crafty and skillful. It is you that is insane to think Hatton getting hurt in this fight is incomprehendable.

I think Casamayor was more past it than Hatton is.

He had a war with Katsidis. :-(

He's still better defensively and a smarter fighter than Hatton. Casamayor had a lot of tricks up his sleeve, and even though I agree he was past it, he is a difficult guy to KO. That was proof his power is there at lightweight, in a big way.

I'm not saying its incomprehensible, I'm saying that I think its unlikely given what we've seen of both boxers so far. 140lbers have trouble hurting Hatton and JMM hasn't knocked out any light welterweights yet.

To put in the terms of this legal analogy we seem to have drifted into, the burden of proof is on Marquez' punching power, not Hattons chin.

    The burden of proof? :patsch

How about in Marquez' last fight he scored a legit KO over a guy that had never been KO'd in a long and illustrious career, and Hatton in his last fight was rocked by a guy with a long and crap career.

On recent showings, Hatton is the one with everything to prove. He said so himself, amongst his many sound bytes recently, he said "he could see why people think he might be past his best" or something along those lines. I'm not making it up.

Is that the same 37 year old Casamayor who you would have called "washed up" if hatton had of KO'd him?

You can quote Hatton out of context all you like, those words have nothing whatsoever to do with this issue.

JMM has not proven his power at 140, Hatton HAS proven his chin.

Marquez hadn't proven his power at 135 when he knocked Casamayor's ass out. I know what he has and hasn't done, but this is a boxing forum and we can make predictions and justify them. It wouldn't be much fun if we had Captain Obvious and his family posting on here :huh

What we know are the cold hard facts of their last outings, Marquez had the power to KO a veteran southpaw with a proven chin only one weight division below, whilst Hatton was hanging on for a period against an average fighter that was a former lightweight himself. It's 5 lbs, nothing if you are a top quality fighter, unless your name is Hatton and you can't fight at any other weight.

Now factor in that Marquez is several levels above Lazcano, stylistically likes to counterpunch and catch guys walking into shots, and is likely to land much cleaner more precise work on a more regular basis than Lazcano ever did and there is my prediction. Marquez has Hatton hurt, possibly stops him.

Yeah, because Hatton is the only fighter to struggle, when out of his natural weight division. That Wilfredo Gomez certainly wasn't a top class fighter...

Don't be so ridiculous. Your bias makes you look like a very uninformed poster.

And anyway, I wish people would stop going on about the Lazcano incident. Hatton got hit, shook-up, but was fine after a second or so. Lazcano didn't even to bother carrying on the assault it was so minor.

He was not fine after a second or so. It is you that is uninformed. Why the hell do you think he was grabbing with more frequency than usual if he was fine a "second or so" later?

Wakey wakey there, he was buzzed, but he was up against a lesser fighter that was probably suprised he even managed it, and did not finish effectively.

Again you're forced to bring up Lazcano, you want me to trawl back through all the opponents JMM failed to stop or hurt and use this as "proof" that he can't punch?

As Jack has said, plenty of top class fighters have come unstuck moving up 4 lbs. Hatton moved up 7 lbs, won a title and lost to the P4P number 1 in the world. Hardly the worst venture up in weight ever?

You talk about "cold, hard facts" but the one that matters is the one I made in my last post. Hattons chin is proven at 140, JMMs power isn't. We've had x number of pages on Hattons chin when we should have been discussing Marquez' power, thats where the big question mark lies in the matchup.

    You win Gaz

I shouldn't have spoken about his most recent fights, they have no bearing.

    I'm too tired
