Decebel, you are the most hyped poster here when it comes to Joan Guzman. I hope he wins so that he can face JMM in his next fight. I expect Pacman to go to 135lbs.
Guzman UD. Soto does a lot of things well. But I expect the naturally gifted Guzman to take Soto to school. Can you say clinic?
Precisely. Though I picked Soto to get the win, I think this is really a 50-50 fight. The thing is, this is the fight to answer whether Guzman is the real deal, or one of the supernaturals, as Ams would say, rather than a showcase for Soto's skills and power. And as I said before, if Guzman wins here, I will readily favor him over both Pac and JMM. But if Soto wins here, I will still favor both Pac and JMM over him.
I am hyped because this is a very big fight! Soto and Guzman are ranked by The Ring at #5 and #3 and the winner will not fight either Pac or JMM only if they are ducked MOST disgracefully...losing Pac and JMM almost all respect in the process. JMM would lose on top a lot of the sympathy he has received for having been ducked himself for so long. We are looking at the BIG net opponent for Pac or JMM! A hell of a fight!
I think that's fair. Soto should only be favoured over Pac and JMM if he beats a Guzman who had been boxing all night, brawling only when to his advantage and fighting a very intelligent fight, strategically - and of course - if he was in good physical shape and made weight without having to kill himself.

With Mayweather in his corner and with a proper strategy in place and the understanding that Joan must impress in this fight and use his speed to not get hit, I am 70% behind Joan for the victory on this one. 20% depend on the way he looks at the weigh-in. 10% depend on his ring rust...due to inactivity.
What are your thoughts? With HBO and strong promoters backing him and Mayweather in his corner, it looks like Guzman will finally shine!
Soto is the underdog right? This is the type of fight that you make money off of. Like Cotto-Margarito if that kicks off. I think Margarito will beat Cotto in an upset.
