hey onepunch, if you would tell this to nate this would serve as an inspiration for him to get going. A lot of people on this board are favoring guzman to win, but i still believe though campbell at his best could probably prove them wrong
Question man. Does Campbell read all these shits in this board? And can you give your assessments on these following fighters and how will they fare versus your boy Cambell: JMM Guzman Juan Diaz Pacquiao Casamayor Sta. Cruz Thanks.:good
JMM - tough fight, because I've always been a HUGE JMM fan. That fight would concern me simply because JMM is really that good. Obviously I think size would really play a role, and that Nate would just be too big and too strong for him, but whether or not Nate would get him out of there? I just don't know..... Guzman - I see Guz maybe getting a few early rounds, but Nate's brutal body work starts taking its toll around rounds 5-6. I don't see it going past 8. Juan Diaz - been there, done that. My only suprise was that Diaz made it the distance. That kid has one hell of a beard. Pacquiao - This may sound crazy, but this is the easiest fight of the bunch. Pac hits ok, but he also GETS HIT. Nate has a solid chin. Only been down once in his career, and that was the free shot he gave Peden. If Pac stands and trades with Nate, it will be over early. Casamayor - In plenty of interviews over the years, Casa has repeatedly said that Nate was the hardest puncher he ever fought, and that includes Corrales, Castillo, and Freitas. So it was no suprise that he rejected the fight with Nate, even before he had anything else on the table. Katsidis almost knocked him into the 4th row with a body shot. Nate would stop Casa to the body, probably somewhere between 8 and 10. Santa Cruz - Obviously, I don't put Santa Cruz in the same catagory as the fighters listed above, but he's still a solid fighter. Just a notch or two below the others though. I think I've only seen his fights with Cherry and Casamayor. He was in trouble with Cherry, and Casa just looked like ass in their fight. So I don't rate him all that high. Nate would handle him relatively easy Now before everyone dismisses my opinions because I picked Nate in every fight, you have to be made aware of a few facts. Up until after the Quiles fight when he got the #1 mandatory position, Nate was really only a part time fighter. He had to hold down a second job to make ends meet, and had his daughters to worry about. The training camp for the Diaz fight was really the first time in years that Nate was really able to just go to camp and train. No worries about the girls, all the bills were paid, no pressures, etc., he could just TRAIN. And I've always said that if Nate has the same advantages in camp that his opponents do (money, equipment, proper sparring brought in, bills taken care of, etc.), that there is NOBODY at 135 that can beat him. And I truly believe that.
Impressive honest insight.:thumbsup Appreciate it. I am with you on JMM and Pac. I think the size difference is a huge factor for him. As for Guzman, the guy is also big for 130, and fits well at 135. Their fight should be a great fight. Thanks.
anyway what plans do you got for nate after he's done with guzman? (if he wins though) how many fights do you think has nate left in him? he's 36 after all
It is true that Nate is 36, but he didn't turn pro until a month before his 28th birthday. That, combined with the fact that he had only about 40 amateur fights, means that he doesnt have alot of wear and tear on him. I believe he has at least another 3 years in him, if not more. After Guz, obviously Pac is the target. Pick up the WBC title, and become only the 2nd fighter in history to have all 4 major belts at the same time. Only other fighter to ever do that was Hopkins. And of course make a bunch of $$$ in the process. After that, we have an IBF mandatory due, and then fights with Khan, JMM (if he wins), Peterson, Juan Diaz rematch, those fights are all out there at 135. And then who knows, maybe Nate moves up to 140. Only time will tell.....
Wow thats amazing he only turned pro at 28! I favour Guzman heavily in this match though, I cant help but think that his performance against Juan Diaz (who I rate a B+ fighter at best anyways) was his performance of a lifetime.
