IF Joe C and Dawson happens for the above reason, i would , hoping it aint a "slide" fight for Calzaghe, put ma house on it !!!

When has Dawson fought in that situation........and i am only meaning regarding fanbase etc ? The aura the spectacle ( yes it would be ) i think .........if it dosent get to him, the reception, then he will go further than Calzaghe.

    Theres a bold statement :rofl:deal

I would be probably more than happy if Dawson won too, as he has come and taken such a persons mantle.

3 months ago i didnt see it happening, maybe it was the hype.

I saw hm buckling to the ocassion 2 months ago easly. A years time given all the promoter/title /tv situations......he will be ina

Dawson couldn't handle Glen Johnson's pressure yet people think he would be a good opponent for Calzaghe? He was hurt and shaky against a non puncher In Johnson too. People saw this and then when he beat the overrated Tarver, he's seen as the messiah again.

Calzaghe would of slaughtered Dawson. His speed, workrate and everything else would be too much for glass jawed Chad.

Dawson is not ready to make it a big money fight, in other words.

It is sad, Joe spending the first 8 years of his title reign moaning that no one will fight him, that the biggest names are kept away from him. There certainly were money fights he could've had before Lacy.

And then when everyone wants to fight him, they're not money enough.

I think we can all see where he's coming from - he's at the end of his career, why take the risk? - but this is definitely what has made him a disappointing fighter.

You think Harding, Adamek, Johnson, Tarver isn't a good learning curve? Adamek's a puncher, is the current cruiser champ (IBF, lineal, Ring mag champ). Johnson gets better with age, still dangerous...

Joe cashed his whole career out by beating Jones, who lost to Tarver who lost to Dawson. Dawson's not been around long, but his 175 resume is as good as Joe's.

Apart from Kessler, Lacy & Hopkins, and alright Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, Joe's record is very very thin. However Dawson's career goes, and I think it'll go well, he will have faced more world class fighters than Joe, probably in a couple of years.

Re glass jaw - Dawson down vs Adamek (puncher), Harding (non puncher), shaken by Johnson (solid hitter). Joe down vs Hopkins AND Jones, 100% of his light heavy fights. Don't forget Dawson moved up from super middle also. Calzaghe down vs Mitchell (puncher) and Salem (non puncher) down at 168.

Joe's a top fighter but as usual he doesn't have to prove anything.

He seems to contradict himself a lot.

I don't see any credible reason for not re-matching Hopkins. And Dawson was obviously ready, he is a bigger name in the US then 99% of the guys Calzaghe has fought.

Skills wise, money wise, doesn't matter, either way Dawson was clearly ready.

Let Hopkins ansd Dawson fight in Cardiff. The'd have to look hard for the pieces of Hopkins after the crowd had had him. He's NOT popular here. The arrogant, ungracious ****.

It's Dawson who needs to be fighting the likes of Hopkins and Kessler. If he can get a few decent names on his resume over the next 12 months then I'm certain the fight will happen. He needs to get his skates on though and forget the bull**** fights (ie the Tarver rematch, total waste of time)

It was Calzaghe decision to retire and I respect that , but I hate this " doesnt deserve to fight me " " not ready " crap. The guy had a belt , Joe had a belt , how much more ready do you need to be ???
