Then why the hell is he gonna fight him if he doesn't wanna knock him out? What kind of sense does that make?:blood Your gonna fight a guy you don't wanna knockout?:blood Does Calslappy think he can handle Roy that easily?:blood So is he trying to say he's gonna carry Roy for 12 rounds cause he doesn't wanna knock him out? Calslappy better be careful, HE might get carried back to his corner.

And so he wants to fight Roy because he's a legend and not a great fighter now? So Calslappy is in this just to waste his time? I don't understand this. Jones wins this anyway:good Calslappy doesn't have real speed. Just throws slapping shots in flurries. He never hurt Hopkins. Jones has real handspeed and punching power. And Joe can't knock Roy out even if he tried. Joe DOESN'T have pop like Tarver and Johnson:hey

:rofl I love the way the Jones nuthuggers try and make Glen Johnson out to be some type of power puncher. And John Ruiz also who had not had a KO in 5 years when he fought Glass Jaw Roy. :rofl

***** please, Calslappy didn't even see a Hopkins right hand coming. What in your right mind makes you think he's gonna catch what Roy throws at him? And atleast Johnson scored a knockout in that fashion. Who did Calslappy ever lay out like that?:yep

He has no interest in knocking him out because he's incapable of doing so.

he also stated in his book that a kessler bout didnt interest him that much or that kessler was largely untested (or along those lines)

I know a lot about boxing thanks very much

I have followed Joe Calzaghe from almost the beginning of his professional career (I think it was his 5th fight) and my opinion is that his peak was around the Mitchell fight when he had genuine KO power to go with the rest of his abilities. Just because he fought the best competition at the end of his career doesn't mean that's when he reached his peak.

A prime Joe Calzaghe stops Kessler before the 12 rounds are over and he UDs Hopkins convincingly. He also would have got Lacy out of there before the 12 rounds that's for sure.

Joe is on the decline unfortunately and I just hope he has enough in him to shut the Pavlik nuthuggers up after he beats Jones.

He's just trying to deflect attention from Ole Joe. He KNOWS HBO wouldn't give Arum a date before January for Palvik/Abraham.

Yep, Calzaghe is fighting a guy he himself called past his prime, for the integrity of boxing.

Newsflash, there's being a fan of a fighter and defending him, and then there's the stalker type fanatics who will blindly defend any action their hero makes out of foolish loyalty.

The funny things is, the Calzaghe fanatics don't seem to realize that the fight vs RJ isn't being blasted because it makes no sense from a financial perspective, they are blasting it because Joe was dumb enough to GO ON RECORD saying the one fight he wanted most was Pavlik, and that he had no interest in beating Jones because he was no longer a great fighter. Had he been wise enough to think and not say those thoughts aloud, sure, there would be some critics out there, but not the full-blown disappointment in him for doing so. His flying off at the lip made a small deal into a much larger one, and he and his blindly loyal fans are going to have to deal with it. I'd love to see someone play the soundbites back at Joe and see him try to talk his way out of this mess.
