Joe Calzaghe had it difficult to get himself in a rhythm throughout the first half of the fight. Joe Calzaghe miss a lot and slap until he was able to finally penetrate and land punches and combos. I thought it was going to be a high punch stat because Joe Calzaghe usually gets it going around 5th round and up. As you say, Bernard Hopkins was able to defend and clinch his way through and counterpunch masterfully, but not enough to win rounds.

I like to see a rematch, because I think the second time around we will see more punches and more combos.

If he beats a pavlik or dawson then he is #1 p4p.

You guys have a ****ed up way of thinking as to how rankings work. Thank God none of you fools work for The Ring or ESPN. P4P #1 is PBF anyone else there is ****ing ridiculous. He just Koed a guy in Hatton in a fight that no one picked him to stop the guy. Who BTW was a top 10 P4P fighter. He hasn't lost or not looked impressive or had a disputed win therefore he can't be dropped.:deal Not to mention he's clearly the best and most complete boxer in the business.:deal
    My top 5
    1.PBF
    2.Pac
    3.Calzaghe
    4.JMM
    5.Cotto

To be considered p4p no.1, you have to be an active fighter and fight young fighters at their prime.

Manny Pacquiao earn his no. 1 spot.

A vast majority of you in here have pick Joe Calzaghe as no.3 p4p very best boxer which gets him ahead of Miguel Cotto in the p4p list of fighters. Joe Calzaghe won against an ATG/HOF in Bernard Hopkins. Nobody has hever solidly beat Hopkins until last night. BUT, Does he deserve to pass up Cotto? Was Cotto fight last week not enough to prevent Calzaghe from taking over him? I'd honestly say yes, he does deserve to pass up Cotto.

I will say we drop Mayweather so he can fight Cotto to reclaim his pound for pound status. He is that kind of guy that gets complacent so you got to give him something to work for other then money.

I still say if Pac is #2, JMM must be #3 - making Calzaghe's highest possible ranking 4. But that's just me.

Still arguing for 1 is funny

    Number 1:patsch

If anything he drops below his current postion at 11 or 12 down to the lower half of the top 20. 17 or 18.
