Joe Calzaghe was getting there but I guess he would need another 2 more rounds. I guess because it was Joe Calzaghe's first time to fight in Las Vegas. Calzaghe best round was 8. He had a chance, but Bernard Hopkin's defense, clinching and masterful counter-attack prevented any aggressive attack.

Agreed. If this had been my first time watching Calzaghe fight I would have come away from it thinking that he was just an average boxer.

I can't believe this thread

Calslappy got knocked down and made to look like an amateur against a ****ing 43 year old who only lost because he ran out of stamina - Hopkins wasn't hurt ONCE in that fight.

Compare that to what Mayweathers achieved in the last 3-4 years and you really think you can make an argument for Calslappy to be rated above him? Words ****ing fail me.

IMO Joe needed to produce a BIG performance if he was even to be considered P4P#1. It was a close fight that he won that takes him to P4P#2

calzaghe should be #1 p4p in amateur boxing with this slapping and tagging. his fighting has no place in pro boxing. i was neutral towards him and hops before this fight. but after seeing that slap-tag display, i definitely will never be a fan of this guy.

Including Calzaghe has any boxer before knockdown Hopkins since Mercado? none, so what if no other boxer today can knockdown Hopkins. btw, Hopkins won several rounds and got a draw which says a lot how Hopkins is not someone you can easily run down.

Mayweather P4P #1 until such time as a year has passed since his last fight. Joe at #2.

Honestly, this Cal-slappy stuff is lazy and wears out my mousewheel.

You are simply wrong on that count.

I think Joe has got to be #3! Right under Floyd and PAC.

Well......Joe beating Hopkins was almost a given. Hop is very old and past his best days.

PAC beat JMM who is prime and a great fighter. That win for PAC is A LOT better than a win over Bhop for Joe.

And Pac has wins against a number of other very good to Great fighters. JOe only has Bhop.....you can throw in Eubanks who was even more past his prime than Bhop on Saturday.....Throw in Kessler and it's a decent resume.

Not #1 or #2 P4P worthy......his "0" is what carries his legitimacy for even making the list and how many years he's been champion.....but once you peel back the layers of the onion you see much of his wins are lacking substance.

#3 on this list is a perfect spot for Joe.

I think the Calzaghe is in the top 3 along with Mayweather and Cotto. If Calzaghe fights Pavlik next and wins he would be p4p #1.
