All the stuff about his talking smack on other boxers is allegedly. That was what I was referring to. It wouldn't surprise me if it was exagerated and twisted or even fabricated.
no dawg u dont get it. u have a typical british perspective/lack of understanding here. he talks about it to contrast the difference in lifestyle; to show people who come from where he comes from that lives can be changed around with hard work, will and focus. u cant relate cause ur not from there, thats all. what the hell would a boxer want to brag about how tough he is based on being in pen? that doesnt make no sense. anyone can go to prison; only very few can become world champions. which do u think hes more proud of?
No you don`t get it. Hopkins thinks he some kind of gangsta tough guy. The only think he proved by being in jail was he was an idiot.
First thing I thought to be honest....in one breath Slappy was bragging about only being down 4 times and in the next breath he's saying he's better than Lewis because Lewis was down twice :huh I suspect there's the usual ton of mis-quoting going on in that article as is the case in 99% of the articles in that crap rag, but I can't help hoping Slappy snorts himself into obscurity, which is exactly where he belongs.
And that takes away from his boxing legacy how ? What a shocker a pro athlete doing drugs ..Whats next they cheat on their wives?atsch
I am sure there story is true. What the news of the world do is set up stings - in this case they caught Joe admitting that he did some coke by using a reporter posing as a sponser. Then they tell the celeb they have 2 chocies - 1 - they admit all and give the news of the world an exclusive and they get painted in a slightly favorable light (ie - they play it up as a problem joe has picked up due to the "long" days he has had in retirement - do the interview where joe admits it and then says he is getting "help"). 2- if the celeb does not play ball they run the story but make them out to be a monster. that is their style and it is a joke - what you read about celebs can be postive or negative based only on one thing - if they gave the NOTW the exclusive and played ball.
He's struggling to adapt from not being in the ring anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a comeback in the near future.
The stuff he said about other boxers isn't even bad, just honest, He's not really slagging them off, they just try and make it sound worse as usual. News of the World is the biggest piece of ****. It's a joke of newspaper, and to think people get their world view from that rag.
