Pre-hand injury Calzaghe knocks him out within 6rds, and the Calzaghe that fought Lacy, Kessler...etc beats the snot out of Canelo in a thorough boxing lesson - probably 10-2 on the unpaid for scorecards - or something similar.

I can’t figure out why this fight has so much leg, still all these years later. Calzaghe was a great fighter, Lacy wasn’t. Calzaghe was underrated. Lacy was overrated. Lacy got exposed and washed.

You're dreaming. Nobody does that to current Canelo. Calzaghe gets lit up with massive counters for being too over-aggressive with possible flash knockdowns. Calslappy slaps as Canelo slips with upper body movement, punishes Joe with hard counters that wobble him and body shots that slow him down and make him more gunshy to do his slaps in the later rounds.

He tried to w/ his 155 MW title fight, but 3G said no to his silly weight restriction. Nice try fanboy.

Show me evidence that He, Canelo, tried to drain GGG to 155. And don't show me some article of De La Hoya saying something. You said He, as in Canelo himself tried to drain GGG.

 you have to be f'n kidding me. Playing semantics who WHO exactly wanted 155? Canelo had his 155 division for a couple of years. They offered 3G the fight at 155. Are you drunk or on drugs right now, because this is just stupid from you. You really have no ability to apply critical thinking at all. Seriously...what are you, like 15???

Would be a great fight. One thing is for sure, neither guy faced anyone like the other in or near their prime. It would be Calzaghe’s activity vs Canelo’s sharp counters and well rounded game.

You said Canelo tried to get GGG to agree to 155. Clearly that's not the case. You like to attribute what De La Hoya said or tried to do promotionally to Canelo. De La Hoya also negotiated Canelo's DAZN deal, how'd that work out? Was Canelo choosing his opponents under the original DAZN deal? Clearly not, he couldn't fight who he wanted to, DAZN had to approve everything. Unlike Canelo, Mayweather in his later career had complete and total control of who he fought. Canelo took a big stand when he decided he wanted to fight Mayweather on Mayweather's terms. DLH didn't approve and ended up in rehab in Mayweather fight week when Canelo went against him and chose to fight Mayweather. After fighting Mayweather, Canelo may have had some input, but at the end of the day De La Hoya, GRP or DAZN chose and dictated to him who he fought.

For you to act like Canelo himself tried to push for a 155 fight with GGG is utterly absurd. If a 155 fight idea was tossed around as a bargaining tactic to GGG, you know full well that De La Hoya would have been behind that. Canelo clearly was not happy with how De La Hoya and GBP was making deals, remember after he beat GGG and he was stripped of the IBF belt for not fighting Derevyanchenko, Canelo was quoted as saying he was upset that happened as he was not part of that negotiation and had no idea he was in danger of being stripped. Canelo continually put his trust in DLH and GBP to do negotiations and over time he became frustrated at the results of that, which is why he split with DLH and GB and became a free agent. He has only recently had the freedom to choose his own opponents and he's still being dictated to by the WBC being forced to fight a guy like Yildirim. How do you not see by now that Canelo has been a fighter who has finally now starting to call his own shots. He recently was granted a promotional license in Las Vegas. Anotherwords, until this recent freedom from DLH, GB and DAZN, he had very little say in who he fought or what happened in negotiations.

not reading this crap.... You've painted canelo as some victim w/ no say in his fights. Get a f'n grip...he has plenty of say. Unless you believe Canelo is some little ***** to GBP....

So De La Hoya and Golden Boy didn't negotiate for him for years? De La Hoya didn't negotiate his DAZN Deal, that was all Canelo?

 Is that how you think things work, it's all Canelo, or he has absolutely no say in regards to anything about his career? Yeah...GBP's ONLY cash vow and the #1 draw today is helpless to put a word in. Wow... you really are just a young kid aren't ya? You're in for a rude awakening when you get out of high school...
