On what....what was the point of your point? Most who picked Lacy had never seen Calzaghe (I picked Calzaghe BTW). This is not the same atmosphere. We have all seen Calzaghe and I would bet fewer have seen Dawson.

In a year, this fight changes to a Dawson UD. Right now it's the other way around IMO.

Not exactly. There's a lot more information about Calzaghe now than there was in 2005, at least to American fans. If Calzaghe had beaten Kessler first, I doubt many would have given Jeff as good a shot.

And as kg pointed out, what people predicted in the past has no bearing on a matchup against Dawson. Other international posters have said this would Joe's most difficult fight, so I don't think you can pin this one on the arrogant Americans.

I agree. Good, competitive fight resulting in a Dawson UD.

Dawson's 6'3". He's naturally a much bigger guy, and younger. He'd take Calazghe out. Moving up in weight class is almost always a disaster unless the fights are carefully picked. There's a reason Calzaghe has fought at Super Middle his whole career. He'll never fight Dawson. It would be a big mistake.

Has woods ever been stopped be4? That dude got a chin of iron. I remember when he and RJ fought, and the shots he was getting hit with but yet he still walked through them and kept coming. He sure can take a shot

I don't recall anyone stopping Woods from him going down. They stopped the Jones fight because he wasn't competitive, but he is a better fighter now (Jones would still beat him as badly if this Woods fought 1998 Jones just because the gap would still be so great).

Everytime I watch that fight I get mad at RJ for going to heavyweight 1st be4 he fought Tarver. If he would have fought Tarver after he fought Woods, he wouldnt b in the discussions he is in now. DAM RJ WHY, WHY:yep

I've only seen a couple of Dawson fights but from what I've seen everything Dawson does Calzaghe does better.

Dawson seems to use the jab and get inside throw a fast combo and get back out, but Joe also does that but has done it against much better opposition.

Dawson has a leaky defence, shaky chin and has not got the adaptability, experience or boxing intelligence that Calzaghe has. Joe has a better jab (totally outjabbed Kessler who was said to have the best jab in boxing) and I dont care what anyone says, Chad Dawson is NOT faster than Joe Calzaghe.

Joe would give him a boxing lesson on the inside, and on the outside.

    Lopsided Calzaghe decision.

Thats not to say Dawson isnt going to improve, lets see him fight a few more quality fighters before we pair him off with someone like Joe. I'd like to see him fight Woods personally.

Won't happen. Pickem fight Dawson is a big LHW and very good his style will give Calzaghe fits. I think Joe will avoid him.
