That is a reach, and I'm easily Kessler's biggest non-Dane fan. (and did insist, even though 90% of the boxing community disagreed with me, that Kessler would have stood a great chance in a rematch of adapting, doing better and maybe even winning)

Kovalev crushes both the super middleweight AND the light heavyweight version of Calzaghe.

 

Same scenario no matter what Joe shows up, a UD win for Joe.

There are always pretenders, there were in his day, they just ducked him or got exposed by him like hard hitting Jeff Lacey lolz.

Joe too fast, too slick,too skilled, too much will and ultimately overwhelms him with his ability and stamina.

 

Joe is way way too quick for Kov , gets off first , goes to the body and really puts on a class A performance.

Calzaghe was a 168 at peak while Kovalev never fought there, so it isn't exactly fair.

The older Calzaghe who fought a couple times at 175 gets beaten by the Kovalev of the past couple years. Bad style and size match up for old Joe.

Yes I think like you that prime Calzaghe would have stopped Kovalev, and unlike you think Kovalev, due to his power would stop prime Jones. Not sure why that doesnt make sense to you? Calzaghe was never on bambi legs, having to hold to survive or badly backed up and struggling. Jones had moments where, when caught, was looking troubled and backed up.
