Woodhall was more or less done when Joe faced him, it was a last throw of the dice for him.

I see no logical reason for Joe Calzaghe to fight another pro fight.

What I would like to see is Joe support Welsh amateur boxing.
I would like to see a team of Welsh amateur boxers visit places like
Canada for International experience. This would serve in the best
long term interest for Canadian, Welsh, British and Commonwealth
    boxing.

Based on his performance, Joe Calzaghe deserves a place with the great
undefeatede champions like Rocky Marciano. In his retirement,
Marciano was involved in Amateur Boxing such as the
1967 B C Diamond Belt Championships where he was a guest referee
and refereed such bouts as the Wes Craven (Seattle) vs Billy Taylor
    (Victoria) heavyweight championship bout.

Like the "Rock", Calzaghe can be a great ambassador for amateur boxing
from the Welsh shores to the Australian boxing clubs, from London
to Vancouver. Let's hope for best for Joe and encourage him
    in all his charitable pursuits.

I doubt it. It looks like Joe has had enough of boxing. Something tells me he is finished just by the way he retired after such a dominating win over a legend. He actually picked a great time to retire when he was undefeated. His legacy will be pretty good.

    But then again...

Calzaghe’s final fight: against his promoter

When Joe Calzaghe announced his retirement earlier this month, it was assumed by many that the undefeated world champion would never face another fight.

But yesterday, Calzaghe began perhaps his biggest bout to date. And, as in most of his others, the money at stake runs into the millions.
The surroundings were not New York’s Madison Square Gardens, the scene of Calzaghe’s final bout, but the rather more austere settings of the Royal Courts of Justice, in London.

nah i agree, joe's not coming back (sadly) as for froch beating taylor thats a pretty big if, and even then he'll only nick it on decision, and no way will he beat kessler. its beyond me why everyone seems to think facing froch would be joe's defining fight anyway...in my eyes joe's defining fight was lacy or kessler. both were in their prime and definately not on the slide or nothing. to be honest, if anything i'd like to see joe fight 4 or 5 easy fights and beat marciano's record. he deserves it. everyone loves to slate joe, saying he ducked all the top fighters and all that, but he aint had it easy, and his recognition as a top fighter came too late in his career simply cos he wouldnt fight in america. they could have come to him right? and the ones that did got beat. simple as that

Exactly to say Joe hasn't had a defining fight is misleading. And if Eubank and Woodhall didn't provide it Froch won't.
