Miranda would have batter Lacy and took him out in 3 .

Unfortunately Lacy was nothing but hype The minute they labeled him "168 pound version of Jeff Lacy"

yeah ha aqua trying to sneak in a false comment when he knows hes on ignore by me.

and mrp you arer quite right, forch beat Kessler at home better than joe beat Kessler at home.

Joe, as was typical in his career, never fought Kessler in Denmark so we will never know about that result.

Now since Frochs victory over Kessler was better than Joes, then its quite probable that Joe would have lost by a bigger margin than Froch if he had the guts to fight in Denmark.

    Oh come on now.

If Khan were a natural 168-175 lb. fighter, he would have gotten knocked silly by Mikkel Kessler. A guy with pretty good handspeed, and rather sizeable advantages in power, chin, and technical skills. He'd be too stupid to beat ole' Hopkins, even with the advantages in speed and youth.

He might not beat the likes of Charles Brewer, Jeff Lacy, aging Chris Eubank, and Robin Reid either.

If Lacy was hype, what was Miranda?

Miranda beat one contender of note in his whole career. Howard Eastman, who was on the downside of his career. He has wins over some fringe contenders like Allan Green and Willie Gibbs.

Lacy, likewise, had one win over a contender in Robin Reid (also on the downside) and fringe contenders like Rubin Williams, Omar Sheika, Syd Vanderpool, and Scott Pemberton.

Neither guy exactly had a murderers row.

The only thing that would really tip things in Miranda's favor would be that he broke Arthur Abraham's jaw and the fight could have been stopped when Abraham said he didn't want to continue. And that was probably because he thought he'd win on a technical decision. When he found out he would have lost because the broken jaw was from a punch and not the headbutt, he carried on, and still won despite the broken jaw.

And that is at 160 anyway.

After getting whupped by Kelly Pavlik at 160, these are some of his results above 160:

Stopped in 4 by Arthur Abraham
One-sided decision loss to Andre Ward
Stopped in 3 by Lucian Bute

And then has lost 4 out of his last 5 to fighters I have never heard of (except Tony Bellew).

His wins above 160 have largely been over journeyman fighters, and guys with nice records over weak opposition.

There's nothing that Miranda did that would give me much confidence that he even beats prime Jeff Lacy, let alone stop him in 3. Lacy took some hellacious beatings and his only stoppage defeat was a corner stoppage after Lacy got the holy hell beaten out of him by an old RJJ.

Lacy was a rather limited slugger, but so was Miranda.

I personally am not a fan of Calzaghe's ugly style, his tendency to punch in a "whack-a-mole" style rather than an actual proper punch, but he was far far better than someone like Edison Miranda.

What does anyone honestly think Calzaghe has to keep Spinks off of him? Spinks has EVERY physical advantage possible. The best version of Joe on his best day fighting the bout of his life, still gets beaten silly. I like Max, but he is waaaaaay wrong on this one!!!!!

I dont think anyone was capable of crushing Calzaghe, I think he'd be competitive against any fighter in his weight range. I'd see Spinks beating him prime-for-prime but I dont think it would be as easy as some are making out.

My list of fighters from MW-LHW that I know of and would comfortably favor over Joe head to head is not that long. I think some beat him, but I bet he also would beat some fighters most people wouldn't expect.

Kellerman is where he is thanks to Daddie's money. He knows nothing about boxing. Calzaghe wouldnt have a prayer against Spinks. Most over rated boxer next to Mayweather:patsch
