He'd have definitely connected on Jones at some point. Spinks had masterful timing and punching technique, and his awkward style made him all the more difficult to predict. There aren't many better men to do the trick against Jones, who was a bit overrated at LHW, IMO.

Calzaghe is an ATG, but I think that Spinks would beat him to be honest.

What about Bob Foster against Roy Jones Jr?

Possibly even worse for Jones than Spinks. I don't consider Jones one of the top 5 or probably even 10 LHW's of all time, unless we're talking ourely on ability, in which case he'd still miss out on the top 5.

Calzaghe would've never even gotten in that ring in the first place. You clearly don't have a clue who Spinks was outside of the Tyson fight, like the majority of the uneducated morons who join this site.

Spinks was an absolute beast at Light Heavy.

    Criminally underappreciated.

Here's a newsflash for you: Americans don't really give a **** what nationality a fighter is, and it has nothing to do with our opinions on who wins what. Mexican, Phillipino, Puerto Rican, whatever... we don't care. Our national identity is not defined by our sports heroes. Maybe in Basketball a little bit, but that's only because we SHOULD be totally dominant and get confused when we're not.

Apparently it means much more to you than it does to us.

ummmm.... no. He's a super middleweight champ who stayed way the hell away from the greatest SMW of all times, RJJ. He also never crossed the pond to fight Hopkins in his prime.

He was willing to come over and prove himself after these guys were finally beaten and showing their age, but he wanted nothing to do with it in their primes. They were the biggest names in the sport, the acknowledged kings of their divisions, and Calzaghe was considered a European fighter who wanted to stay safe in his own backyard and he did nothing to change that impression.

But lemme guess: you're going to tell me that London is a MUCH hotter boxing spot than Vegas or LA right, and Joe C. had NOTHING to prove.

    I lol at you heartily.
