It was an interview in ring magazine, when they compared old VS current fighters, and asked some "specialist" who's better.

    Vitali VS Holmes
    JC VS Spinks
    Hopkins VS Monzon
    Pryor VS Valero
    ...

Spinks devastates Calzaghe...and most likely RJJ, too.

Not that an explanation should be needed, but Michael was a pretty big Light Heavyweight, who didn't look all that small against Holmes when those two fought. He'd walk through Calzaghe, who doesn't hit hard, and can't match up with Spinks physically. It'd be pretty interesting for the first few rounds, but once Michael started letting his hands go and began punching in combination, it's only a matter of time before Joe gets put down hard. Michael could end this fight with either hand, and at any time.

Roy Jones is going to get hit at some point or another, and I don't think he has the capacity to take Spinks best shot? The worst possible match up for Roy. Spinks has the ability to land, the power to finish, and the awkwardness to almost completely nullify Jones reflexes.

Only Bob Foster has a very good chance with Mike Spinks at 175. Do people realise how great Spinks was at light heavy? he would have physicality over Joe and really go to work on him. He had a vicious left uppercut he use to marmalise southpaws with...I don't know whether he would stop Calzaghe as JC is one tough cookie with a lot of intangibles, but he would definitely dominate him. Calzaghe would do better against him then someone like Hopkins though, who would get ripped on the inside.

I've long reached that same conclusion. She's a woman with a heavy crush, one of these other posters is likely his son Connor, and Anglo-Saxon or Headgiver or whatever the alias is (this week) is some jilted toilet (blow) buddy of Joe's that forever posts his love and affection on ESB while stalking him on the streets and around the city.

He's just trolling, I don't take him seriously.

Some of his nonsense is kind of amusing.

This may one day become frustrating.

    Before accusing me of trolling:
    1 - Load up boxrec
2 - Look at Spinks record at 175
3 - See that all of the fighter he stopped, recognise Calzaghe is more durable than all of them
4 - Look at the fighters he failed to stop on the way to UD wings, recognise that Calzaghe is more durable than most of those fighters.
5 - Appreciate Spinks is more likely to UD than KO/TKO Calzaghe.

The question is who wins the decision Spinks or Calzaghe. Spink won't be stopping Calzaghe and Calzaghe sure as hell isn't stopping Spinks at 175.

This nonsense about fighters being walked through and crushed needs to stop.

He was certainly the harder puncher, but I would not say Spinks was more skilled.

No one, ever, rapes Calzaghe, he's too good.

He definitely gets a lot of hate on here, what did the Welsh ever do to the Yanks? :nut
