the only thing that vindicated Pac as the true winner of that fight is the judge admitting that he made a scoring error in JMM's favor

You should ask Cortez why he told us this revelation. If what he did was the right thing, why should he tell to Marquez that he allowed him to continue? Did he mean he had the basis of stopping the fight but he didn't? I did not say it, it was Cortez. So, you guys are barking up the wrong tree.

I agree with 110%. I won't dispute that. But Cortez has a lot of explaining to do with this revelation. It even boosted Pac's stock as the true winner.

The issues? The issue is this: It was obviously the RIGHT move for him to let JMM continue, because JMM went on to win almost every remaining round. Just like it was the right move for the Ref not to stop the first Taylor/Pavlik fight when Pavlik was in BAD trouble, because he ended up coming back and KOing him. Just because Cortez said he's NOT biased towards mexican fighters DOES NOT mean he cheated for JMM. Like I said....stupid thread. Are you saying that fight should've been stopped? How can you justify that statement? What is the purpose of stopping a fight? To protect one fighter from unnecessary harm right....thinking that the fighter MAY be badly hurt if he continues. Well in this case there is NO MAY BE, there is no questions. It did continue and JMM was fine and won the rest of the fight. JMM proved that a stoppage in the first round WOULD HAVE been a huge mistake and an awful call by the ref. :deal

My point, Dawg, is : it is not me whom you should address those questions but to Cortez who uttered this startling revelation that he allowed Marquez to continue. It did not come from me. What is his point in saying that when he made a right decision based on his judgment at that time. If he thought it was legit, what's the point of bringing it up to Marquez's face? Is he saying that at that point, he can in his judgment stop it but he did not? Is there something he knows that we don't know. Only Cortez can answer that. Not me.

Now, thanks for heeding my call to stick to free discussion of issues. :good

I think I have already become repetitive in my posts here. I've made point. Cortez has a lot of explaining to do.

    Ciao!

NAH, not a dq..then we would've missed a great fight...a point would've been fine cause he had dropped marquez, marquez was getting up and manny cracked him again...

What revelation??? Read your post, and what I underlined below a bit more closely, and get back to us. No statement by Cortez vindicated PAc of anything. What does "In so many words"...mean anyway lol...!!!??? Do you, as a PAc fan think that Cortez should've stopped the fight??? You must be out of your mind lol. You are misinterpreting what Cortez is saying anyway lol...that is why we are getting on you lol...

In so many words, Joe Cortez revealed that if he is an enemy of the Mexican boxers, he would not have allowed Marquez to continue fighting after he was knocked 3 times by Pacquiao in their first fight.

"If I were the enemy of Mexican fighters

I allowed him to continue and he put up the fight of his life.” -- Joe Cortez

This statement of Joe Cortez has just vindicated Manny Pacquiao as the true winner of the first fight w/ JMM. He revealed his true character as "friend of Mexican boxers". He was therefore biased in favor of Marquez in that fight. He should not be allowed to officiate in future matches featuring Mexican boxers, let alone Marquez as opponent of Pacquiao.

J.M.M accused, and called Cortez the enemy of Mexican fighters, and Cortez answered with an example of why he is not an enemy. Cortez has nothing to explain about anything. Soriano, you as a PAc fan don't think Cortez should've stopped the fight in the first round anyway so whatchutalkinabout??? lol...

Because he wants to keep working major fights, you ******, and JMM not wanting him as a ref doesn't look good for him, you ******. So he's saying he's not biased against Mexicans like JMM thinks he is you ******.

Cortez has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to explain.

If you haven't grasped that from the explanation provided to you in post #15 and #17 then there are only three possible explanations:

    1. You are incapable of rational thought and analysis of language is beyond you.

    2. You understand fine, but wish to continue disputing a point which has been shown to have no merit, for whatever biased reason.

    3. English is not your first language and you simply can't grasp the meaning of what Cortez said.

For the record, I like Pac. Not a huge fan but a fan of sorts. I think he won both JMM fights narrowly. And I don't think Cortez is a great referee.

All that said, your points in this thread are completely without merit and hold no water whatsoever.
