Ishida is a tough call. Didn't see enough of him to know how good he is versus how bad Kirkland is now. I mean that few KO's he doesn't seem like he would be all that exciting to watch, but hell, he earned a second shot on a televised card regardless I guess. Not sure Golden Boy will invite him back anytime soon though.
As I said above, there seems to be an unwritten rule to use the 3KD role when a fight isn't considered important. Even more so with younger fighters sometimes.
They might not have been the hardest punches in the world Kirkland looked ok, but he went down 3 times. If a boxer goes down 3 times in a round it is reasonablefor any refree to stop it.
Theres no guideline rule to stop a bout, its just referee's intsincts. Also u were watching on tv, he was there feeling the action & could see kirklands eyes at time of stopage.
True about GBP, but I would like to see a bit more of Ishida. And hell, he deserves a payday after that performance, even if he stinks the joint out. Give him a co-headline on FNF or something.:good
Nothing wrong with Cortez“s actions last night. The ref in Katsidis-Guerrero fight was biased and deserves critic.
Kirkland was getting hit Clean and hard. The stoppage reminded me of Vlads loss to Sanders . Do we need to see Hatton or Williams like stoppages every week??? Good stoppage from a very good ref.
Yup. Their Old Crustacean barleywine. I have a couple in my cellar from each of the last two years. It is amazing. Also, their Morimoto Imperial Pilsner is pretty awesome too, but I wouldn't cellar it. :good /derail (we can talk good beer all day in the lounge if you want though)
