Im not angry, but if someone says something outrageous like "Certain fighters should be given the benefit of the doubt" then I will call them out on it. Its as silly as the phrase "you have to press the fight to take the champion's belt away from him" And I cant go to bed. Im at work getting paid to school the uninformed people such as yourself.
He was hurt no doubt but not out, he could have survived the round and turn the fight around in the 2nd. I think its bad decision by the ref but not terrible decision, he had the right to stop it.
WTF are you talking about? Your post-fight roid rages are very annoying. Every shot NOT producing a knockdown still hurt Kirkland who didn't see a single one coming. Cortez did his job. So did Ishida. So how much money did you lose?
It was a good stoppage. He gave Kirkland every chance to sort himself out but he was getting battered. Its rare a guy goes down 3 times in a round and does not get stopped.
Every solid punch either stiffened or rendered his legs jelly-esque. It's not just about the knockdowns scored, and with that considered, the stoppage was good. Cortez's recent history of flawed officiating needn't be raised in relation to this contest.
Im not discrediting Ishida. But ill refer to what I said in an earlier post. If Cortez stopped JMM/Pac I in the first round everyone would be saying thats a fair stoppage.
Just stop it. Go watch the fight again. Every shot Ishida scored was rocking Kirkland hard, he even had flash chickendance moves at some points. It was target practice for Ishida yesterday, just get over it.
So what...JMM was on wobbly legs and eating a lot of shots after the 2nd KD but Cortez allowed him to get up after the 3rd KD. We dont know with Kirkland because Cortez didnt even give him a chance to get up after the 3rd Knockdown. If there is no 3 knockdown rule in effect....guess what, it means the fighter can get knockdown 3 times and still continue to fight if hes still fit to continue.
