I would say he does not. Bowe would have to be at the level he was at for the first Holyfield fight to give himself the best chance at beating a Peak Frazier. Bowe's in for a long night either way!
I heard him say it in an interview while discussing Bowe's trilogy with Holyfield. Naturally Holyfield brought the Frazier element as the smaller man in their series needing to get inside Bowe's reach to bring him down. Futch talked about a small window of opportunity for Bowe to KO Frazier in the early rounds like Foreman did, but clearly stated the best heavyweight he trained was Frazier, who'd beat him well inside the 12 round distance. Futch also reiterated his concern at that time for Joe before his title defense against Foreman. He didn't necessarily agree to defend in Jamaica and was even more concerned watching Norton shine in the sparring sessions against a disinterested Frazier.
Absolutely right. Riddick's punches would have much more impact than vice versa. I like Joe's workrate but I don't see how he's stopping a much bigger, stronger man. I respect all opinions here but I can't help but think it's oftentimes based more on relative popularity as opposed to logic.
Bowe could stop the version of Frazier destroyed by Foreman, not in 2 rounds but maybe in 6 or 7. 68-FOTC Joe Frazier breaks Bowe down and stops him in before round 10.
odds for a 15 rounder between a 210 lb frazier and a 235 lb bowe at manilla at 10 oclock in the morning in 110 degree heat and 90 percent humidity would be be frazier 1/4 , bowe 5/2 . bowe would quit on his stool after round 5 . bowes a modern fighter with his airconditioned stadiums , would'nt survive any other era .
I strongly disagree. Joe's left hook doesn't give a **** how big Bowe is. Power is power. Also, Bowe has like 2 good fights ever and was floored but chubby ******* Andrew Golota. Joe KO's Bowe late but hard. Round 10 or 11.
Frazier, in a blood and guts war that might go the distance. Frazier is a more explosive puncher than Holyfield, and an even better inside fighter, with even more stamina. :bart Do not underestimate the great little man, here. If Evander is 1/3 against Riddick, I'll pick Frazier 2/3, because he matches up better with him, imo. It would be pugilistic bliss though. They'd be ringing each others' bells, all night long, if it lasts, as I think it will, until at least the later rounds. Both these guys are all dog. They're going to take punishment and fire back, until they can't fire anymore.
Bowe would do the exact same thing Foreman did pretty much, maybe Frazier lasts longer but he gets knocked out. And everyone knows I'm 1 of Big Daddies biggest critics
The FOTC version of Joe Frazier would smother Bowe, wear him down and either tko him late or win a 15 round decision...and if he landed a FOTC vintage left hook like the one he decked Ali with, Bowe would be worse off than when Holyfield decked him..as I doubt Bowe had Ali's chin or recooperative powers. FOTC Joe Frazier, to be fair, is the only version of Frazier that I consider when we have these matches involving him.
