Do you expect this thread to bring anything new to the argument?

The 70s crowd will still pick Foreman, while those who atempt to break down the stylistic dynamic will still pick Louis.

Louis has some shaky moments in the first half of the fight, maybe even going down 1 or 2 times. But Foreman had a very leaky defense, on occasion it was virtually nonexistent.

And that isn't a good thing against the most prolific puncher the heavyweight division has ever seen. Joe would nail Foreman way too many times, George had a titanium chin, but no mans chin stand up to A Joe Louis onslaught.

Louis should win, but it's absurd to say Foreman has no chance. He's going to be landing from time to time, and that's bad news for anybody, even Joe.

Foreman knocks his azz out about 7 out of 10 times with Louis standing a chance of stopping Foreman in d rest .
Foreman had d stronger chin and d more effective style , Louis was far from a defensive wizard himself and never fought any1 like Foreman .
Foreman destroyed Lyle & Cooney and Morison did not even try his left hook on Foreman . But Louis lacked Morison's IQ (not just "ring" IQ) .

Style-wise size-wise punching power-wise and level of boxing ability wise Foreman is a closer match of Max Baer than anyone else in boxing history - almost a carbon copy...and look what happened to Maxie on Louis' finest night? Louis too clinical, too perfect would pick foreman apart and do a number on him making him look as much of a rank amateur as he made Baer look - Foreman NEVER fought anyone like Joe Louis - Louis in 7 rounds

I've noticed in boxing and the classic section people vote based on their age and era in which they remember best............. Real old farts will claim Joe Louis as the greatest fighter of all-time, and, younger folks will stick with George Foreman like that gorilla glue...........

    MR.BILL

Louis was a better tactical fighter, however, Foreman was bigger, stronger and more powerful physically.......

Louis was the better all round fighter out of the two,so I'd have to make him favourite here. Thing is,George's power was devastating, and if he catches Joe hard enough, and can follow up quick enough, then he upsets the applecart.

  12. hiii my old friend!!! how are you? it is true, foreman never fought anyone like louis, but joe louis never fought anyone like foreman(please baer was a garbage next to foreman). foreman was bigger, heavier, stronger, he had better chin, he had more power WITH ANY HAND.

it is simple, the first fight foreman by ko, the rematch, joe louis by tko, joe louis was a god in a rematch, joe louis is the only one puncher who i would pick to beat a fight against prime george foreman.

I'm only 20, and I think that Louis **** Foreman up, Foreman was stronger and bigger, but Louis beats him in literally every other category

Could see it going either way to be honest, either could knock the other out for different reasons

And no Foreman is allot better than Baer as an athlete, stronger, more powerful, a higher workrate and a bigger fighting heart
