Who wins in the battle between 'The Brown Bomber' & 'Smokin' Joe Frazier in their primes. I see Louis winning by KO inside 12, after getting dropped earlier on in a gruelling battle.

I’d go with Frazier but it’ll be a tough fire fight for both men. Louis didn’t have the foot speed, defense, or chin to hang with Frazier. Frazier breaks him down but eats a lot of leather doing so

I like both fighters, but Frazier is tailormade for Louis. Ironically it was Louis that came up with Foreman’s strategy to beat Frazier.

Frazier had no answer for Foreman’s uppercut and Louis had a much better uppercut than Foreman and was also a better finisher.

Huh you mean Louis communicated the strategy to Frazier?
I do not know if Louis had a better uppercut than Foreman, & both were great finishers, though I give Louis the edge there & he had better & faster combinatons.

It would be a competitive fight and a crowd pleaser. Joe Frazier had the type of style, work rate, hand speed and stamina to give Louis a good match. He might even deck him once. But ultimately I can see Louis’s ferocious combinations breaking Frazier down for the stoppage sometime midway through the match.

Archie brought Louis into Foreman’s camp and Louis instructed Foreman to use the uppercut on Frazier. Also, according to Foreman himself Louis gave him advice on how to improve his uppercut.

Who wins is the crowd. Blistering matchup.

Think I favour Louis as the more complete boxer but if he wins it's no easy win.

Disagree completely with that. His foot work may have lacked a bit, but his defense & chin were good enough to hang with Frazier - along with his counter-punching abilities.

    I like Frazier here.
Louis's lack of foot speed and average chin would be the difference.
Some here are comparing Foreman's ability to uppercut Frazier and
thinking Louis would be able to do the same.
The style differences between Foreman and Louis are night and day.
Louis's uppercuts were perfect and devastating, no hint of telegraphing
, Louis actually was even more effective with the uppercut than Foreman.
But the key difference is how how they got it their.
Where Louis was more boxer-puncher from a classical sense.
Foreman was much more of a brawler, using his strength to push and pull his
opponents off balance before he launched his punches.
That's how he created his openings.
Louis simply didn't fight that way.
It comes down too can Louis keep Frazier off of him long enough to
    wear him down.
I don't think he would be able to do that. Frazier was a slow starter,
But if he takes it to Louis early, theirs no real reason he wouldn't be
able to stop Louis unlike the many fighters that knocked him down.
Frazier was much better than any of those fighters that put Louis on his
ass or seriously hurt him . Frazier in 8-10rds.

Tell you what, Jacko. Going into a camp of a 6'3" fighter who is fighting a 5'11" crouching swarmer and telling him to use the uppercut is nice work if you can get it.

Agree. This would be a match fought on the inside where Louis was the king

Think Louis beats him to the punch most times. Think both get knocked down a few times. Think Louis wins by late round TKO

I don’t think so, if you wanna beat Frazier you have to outmuscle him and back him up, Louis doesn’t have the size, strength, or defensive skills to pull it off imo

You're right, Louis had the quick combinations and power to fend off Frazier. Both fighters would hit the deck imo.
