I for one don't think anyone's prediction should be chalked up to anyone beating the other with one punch anyway. Sure it might have happened. But both Lewis and Louis survived plenty of heavy hitters.
Than take it up with Crazy Foxy who is apparently of the opinion Lewis can only be beat by someone who can knock him out with punch, and disregarding anyone who has not KOed Lewis with one punch. Therefore Lewis can only beat by McCall or Rahman in his view. :huh
Simon scaled 250lbs or over for 40 of his 47 fights and 267 for one of his fights with Willie Reddish,[Liston's old trainer and a Louis spar mate,] Abe was a man mountain.
Simon was a scary looking guy. https://www.google.com/search?q=abe...c.com%2Fmedia%2Findex.php%2FAbe_Simon;300;436
But an "oaf" no doubt. Even when they are big it doesn't count. But if they are skilled, they are too small!
Below, Monte Cox's take on Louis's power. "Louis absolutely feasted on large targets. This can be easily seen by anyone who seriously studies the films of his fights. In his first fight with the Lennox Lewis sized Buddy Baer he spun his foe to the canvas with a right hand that traveled about 6 inches. It looked much like the right hand that Mike Tyson hit Frans Botha with. While not a great fighter, Buddy was as big as modern heavyweights and he was a legit contender with a respectable 50-5 record at the time. Buddy was absolutely destroyed by Louis in two fights. Louis proved he had the power to not only knock out heavyweights of "modern" size but to utterly annihilate them. Abe Simon was as big as the old George Foreman, and he had a similar build about 260 pounds, with huge back and shoulder muscles and a square jaw made to absorb punishment. Simon held a knockout victory over Jersey Joe Walcott, yet Louis blazing punches, especially in their second fight, crushed him. "
Below " little Abe," weighing in with Louis. This content is protected Below ,Abe with Jack Johnson. This content is protected Foxy says Simon was not as big as Lewis. No he wasn't, he was bigger , as in heavier and in physical dimensions at 48" his chest was 4 inches bigger than Lewis's 44"
He was definitely a large man not only for the standards of his day but even for those of many decades to come. I assume he was very strong as well.
If you must jump on band wagons, either get your facts right or STFU. It was McFay, and other idiotic Joe Louis supporting liars and fanboy's who stated the fact that Lewis was twice one punch KO'd went against him, and then compounded their garbage with the blatant lie that Louis " did " the same to guys as big or bigger than Lennox. They further reasoned that if the 232lb McCall, and the 238lb Rahman could take Lewis out with one shot, so could the 200lb Joe Louis, because they " state categorically " that Louis hit harder than either of them. Those of us who don't believe any such nonsense ( 57 so far ) laugh, and say BULL****. If the more rabid Joe Louis fans on this board are unhappy about that, tough.
