He would expose the mediocreness of Usyk by beating Fury in a much more dominant fashion, and then he would proceed to KO Usyk inside of 8
lol at these laughable comparison of the Baer brothers to any modern guys in the top ten. Laughable at best, and more likely disingenuous. I like Louis and respect what he's done for the sport, but let's be serious for a second. Guys like the Baers, had zero defense, zero technique, and didn't have any semblance of a jab. They in no way represented half the challenges modern HWs would pose. Not to mention he was also dropped by the aforementioned Baers, as well as the laughably inept Galento who I imagine would struggle to find a top ten ranking in any division past the 60s. Sorry, I don't see Louis as he was fairing to well against modern SHWs.
There is no era where Louis isn’t top two. His speed, power, stamina, jab, abilities to throw combos is why he is the number 1 or 2 HW ever. I understand some may question his chin against modern guys. I don’t think it would be a problem.
Yes. Wilder had an underrated jab when he bothered to use it. I don’t think Baer even knew what a jab was. Wilder also didn’t fall halfway to the floor when throwing an uppercut.
I do agree, however, that modern super heavies are significantly more skilled than ones in Louis's days.
The double standards on this forum are insane. If Wilder was dropped by the likes of Galento, and Buddy Baer, this forum would never let him live it down. There'd be a pinned thread of the knock downs on classic. Perhaps even it's own sub forum.
Louis handles Wilder without too much issue, Beyonce telegraphs the right and with Louis short straight combos he would land without any issues against Wilder's non existent defence
Not really a double standard. Fury was dropped by Steve Cunningham and yet we don't have a thread for that.
