I would be verry confident about Louis beating either of them.

Hate to say it, but I'm not convinced he could. For me, JL is an incredible fighter; one whose skill surpasses almost any other heavyweight. But this is not so much about pure ability as it is about styles.

In McGrain's breakdown of Louis, he mentions Louis operating in a strictly defined/controlled 'kill box' where he sacfrifices striving to be in range at all times to being in position to punch at all times. It's a very astute observation, and one that I agree entrely with. It's going to really play a hand in a fight versus the brothers.

The thing is, both are considerably taller and rangier than Louis. Not that big a deal in itself, but both run like scalded cats when tagged by something solid, or they immediately clinch. Just how often will they be drifting into Louis' kill box?
That to me, is really the big issue.

I think both can get their jab working and time him with right counters, although his power and accuracy he stands a chance against both. Strength wise though he'd be ridiculously outmuscled so overall I think both brothers beat him. However if he had the same modern advantages of the supplements, maybe PEDs and some modern strength programmes that the Klits have available to them then he'd increase his chances in the match up. Just like a trainer who got him moving his head more on the way in would improve his chances

I'm not a fan of either but if you were a world class heavyweight and sparred with every heavyweight champ of the last century I guarantee 2 of the ones you'd respect the most for their ability would be the Klits

Joe Louis would chop both brothers to pieces ... Wlad had to fight like a little girl to survive David Haye for God's sake ... Louis would take him out ... Vitali , so much tougher than his brother , would take a hell of a beating but end up bloodied and likely stopped ... Louis excelled against big guys with his lightning hand speed and pulverizing , pin point power ... these guys would have little shot

he grant - thanks for saving me the time for typing this. Would just like to add, I see Vitali possibly lasting the distance in a first fight but getting thrashed inside the distance in a rematch, in the time honoured fashion of Louis rematches...

You're going to hear about the wildcard in the next part, fof, the punch most crucial to Louis taking on either Klitschko.

But I actually believe Louis could out-jab Vitali.

Louis would get tired as Wlad leans on him in the clinches

There's a precedent for Louis being outjabbed or having his jab taken away, there isn't too much of 1 for Vitali being outjabbed or having his jab taken away, bar the Byrd fight when his shoulder supposedly needed a massage or something

I suppose then you have to analyse how good some of Vitali's opponents were, I think they're lazily underrated on the classic ability wise to be honest

    Timber.

Louis might be out-gunned in the physicality department against Vitali, though.

Lets not get carried away when rating Vitally.

His key career wins are over Corrie Sanders, Sam Peter and Thomas Admek.

Beyond that things are a bit thin.

Everyone calm the **** down and let's not go nuts over Vitali's 'supposed' abilities.

His granite chin bull**** is just bull****. You guys talking in this classics section yet refuse to do real research.

Lennox Lewis have a worst chin then Vitali right?

Lewis took infinitely more power punches throughout his career compare to Vitali because of better opposition fought

He went down twice. Vitali just fought a bunch of ****** morons who couldn't tag him. The one time he did got tag was by a fat overweight retiring old ass Lewis who tko6 him.

Chins can be deceptive. Look at how many times Lennox was punched

IN THE FACE by Vitali. WHERE WAS lennox's marshmallow chin then?

Vitali took one good shot that proved he got a great chin. The upper cut from Lewis. That upper cut almost killed him, he was holding on for dear life.

A younger Lewis will have followed up that upper cut with a 4 punch combo.

Vitali's chin is just as overrated as Vitali's entire ****ing career.

To say that Vitali can beat Lewis prime for prime

    is ****ing laughable

Loius could very well win either. As a betting man I am picking Wlad by easy and boring UD. Each would be by far the best head to head fighter the other ever faced but Wlad of his championship days has a way of controlling the demons before him and in his skull. He has such great tools and has mastered them to a yeoman level.

I would actually take Louis as a sight favorite over Vital, who was/is not as gifted as his brother and leaves much bigger gaps in defense to be exploited.

McGrain If you were training Louis should he come in light, 200 or so as to be quicker, or do you think that he would be better suited to come in at 215 for more strength. I would also like to note that Louis was about Holyfield sized, so he probably shouldn't be counted out against super heavyweights.

Gomez, Kirk Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Chisora, Danny Williams, Herbie Hide are as good or better than a few of those. Ability wise I'm not sure Louis faced much better opposition

:good I just can't see Vitali getting stopped by anyone but maybe Young Foreman. I hate to use size as a determining factor, especially when Louis was good against big men but I don't think he can cope with Vitali's exceptional work rate when he's throwing constant bombs for 12 rounds. Wlad on the other hand I feel it's just a matter of time. Louis would catch him and it may not even be till the 10th/11th round but when he does, he sparks Wlad
