This is the first Schmeling fight all over again ,except that it only goes 3 rounds

VITALI VANQUISHES MR BARROW with a dynamite right cross which allmost decapitates the tiny Louis.

Louis his face swollen from monster jabs ,mumbles through mashed lips, "Aah done my best" "the man was too good, and way too big for me".
Vitali unmarked and not even sweating, says
".I would like to dedicate this fight to Mr CHames Cheffries, and to my new trainer Dr Z."

Reality,Louis beats a symphony of pain on the Ukrainians body ,till the giant is helpless, the finish is the classic left jab right cross, that kod Braddock.Klitscko takes the referee out with him as he falls, and the ten is counted off by the timekeeper.

I think Joe Louis wins by TKO inside 8 rounds.

I dont agree with those who reckon Vitali to be much better than Carnera. Yeah, Vitali has a better chin, but Carnera was more mobile and boxed just as well.

Carnera was not in Vitali's league for power or durability.
Imagine Carnera in with Lewis, it would have been horrible, like watching a hamstrung wildebeast being cut down by a lion.
Vitali gave Lewis a close fight before cuts intervened.

Oh so anybody who beats Valuev would handily beat Vitali?

What about Julius Long? Anybody who KOs Long could KO Vitali?

    LOL

Yeah. Size. That's why Louis got his ass handed to him by Buddy Baer, Abe Simon, and Primo Carnera. And why Dempsey was handily beaten by the 60+ pounds heavier Jess Willard. Remember when Nicolay Valuev clearly out-pointed the nearly 100 pounds lighter Ruslan Chagaev? I don't. Because that never happned. Actually, none of those things ever happened. Your argument is not valid.

Carnera was old, never could take a punch, and was not much on offense. Essentially he was a sitting duck for Louis.

Vitali can box, punch and take a punch.

Fans or historians need to explain to me why superman was in fact out boxed often, didn't have the best chin, had porusu defense, and slow & predictable feet.

I guess big time knockout artists who blow away bum of the month guys or older past their pirme x champions and look good doing it are always over rated.

Nothing I see on film suggests Louis will out box Vitali, and since Vitali has the edge on defense, chin, and distance here, plus he'd probably hits harder then Schemling....

If Louis was" outboxed often",how come he only lost 3 fights ,all to world Champions?
    "Carnera was old" What,at 30?

Because Louis had his own ref, in Donnovan scoring his fights, and the Madison Square garden judges in his pocket. IF the judging were fair on Louis filmed fights, he looses at least one match for sure, maybe two.

Carnera was a glandular freak. Those types mature very early and die young. If you look at the dates, Louis beat Carnera in 1935. By 1936 Carnera lost three fights in a row. Hence he was washed up.

Carnera wasn't old. Carnera was 28.
Vitali is old. And Lewis was old when he beat Vitali.

    Er ....... no.
The reasons for Joe Louis being highly rated are fairly simple and self-explanatory.

Doesn't matter where you rate Joe Louis among the greats. But he's one of the greats, that's indisputable.
Vitali's accomplishments dont even begin to measure up.

Which two fights are you refering to ? What was the ringsider consensus ? Have you seen both these fights in their entirety ?

Alternatively you could say - Carnera won 4 fights in a row before facing Louis, and won four in a row after.
Lots of fighters go from their peak to being clearly past it within a year or a couple of fights.
