Great post. I haven't heard a whole lot of Rogan, but what I did hear was extremely entertaining. He knows enough about the sport to appeal to the noobs and as you said, his passion carries over. There was a podcast he did when I think he was drunk, about Brock Lesnar, and how he'd have all the other MMA guys chained to a pole in his backyard if it was the middle ages. I LMAO'd at that one. Mastery of English isn't always a prerequisite for being a great commentator. Bas Rutten was a bit iffy in his early career, and I still enjoyed him.
He has his qualities, I think his podcast with Armstrong was excellent. I haven't watch his comedy a lot, from what I've seen it's not really my style of humor, I think Joe is the funniest when he just spontaneously makes some jokes on podcasts. Rogan def has some annoying moments, TJ vs Barao fight was unbearable to listen to. But He has some great insights on kicking and bjj, kicks especially, and that's an area which I know very little about, and find his explanations useful.
Rogan is the bottom of the bird cage. I am aalso beginning to not really like women's MMA. They are basically show pony's for fan boys that all act like men anyways.
