This is the fight that made me believe that Bert Cooper stops a young George Foreman.

You think Savage somehow resembles a young George Foreman?

    Lucky shot.

This was the Nunn-Kalumbay of heavyweight boxer-vs-unlicensed-bare-knuckle-champ fights.

    Should have been a trilogy.

Joe Savage would have won the rematch by 1st round KO and the the 3rd fight would be a draw ending in a double knockout.

Cooper would have won the second fight by a KO 1. He would have won the third fight by KO 1. In case you think their series has been inconclusive, they'll meet a fourth time, and Cooper will defeat Savage by KO 1.

That would have left Joe Savage with brain damage!

I think prime Cooper stops 9-year-young George Foreman.

    Savage pffttt..

A poor mans Lenny McLean. Would Bert be so gung ho and reckless with the Guv’nor glowering across the ring at him?

Lenny beat Roy Shaw who beat Ron Stander who beat Earnie Shavers who beat Ken Norton who beat Muhammad Ali. Lenny was no joke!!

I find these things fun to watch. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to think that you can, with no experience, hang with a seasoned pro? (That said, my mind just went to John Carlo vs. Leon Spinks.)
