It is a good fight for himt o make based on the polls. As always, avoid the power and score points with those fast shots.
That wont happen. Casamayor was a slick counter puncher who was also a very wiley vet and much like B Hop akin to bending the rules somewhat. This is a very very experienced pro with a wealth of experience. Casamayor also has decent pop in both hands and is a southpaw. He's lost a step but he definitly has the tools to stop Khan anywhere between the 7th and 9th rounds after a sustained beating.
Khans now a world class fighter. He has to mix it up with good fighters but the match ups have to be smart. Casa is a boxer by nature and doesn't have Khans height, reach or speed. At boxing Khan has good moves so if he avoids the power then the decision could be his. If Casa stands off enough due to being a natural boxer Khan can win.
He is not. Just because the WBA is around his waist does not make him world class. The fighter makes the belt but the fighter is also indicative of the belt around his waist. The title flatters Khan. At best he is Euro level. Matter of fact we dont even know if he is the best in Britain as he avoided most of his domestic competition. And Casamayor isnt a puncher first. He's a box puncher who likes to counter. On the front foot though he would abuse Khan.
Khan is definitely a world class fighter. He has faced and beaten top fighters like MAB and Kotelnik. Even St Claire is a half win. Kotelnik is a quality win that can't be disputed. Based on your talk, Casa is a great fight but I'm sure he'll be old if he loses to Khan.
Dont agree. The MAB fighter is what it was. A very shallow victory in name and nothing more. His bout with St Claire i was impressed with though but St Claire clearly is not/was not a Lightweight. Anyway the Kotelnik win again is a solid win but Khan did not win a fashion that makes me think he can trouble any of the big names at lightweight or 140. If he looks this fragile vs a non puncher like Kotelnik wait till he gets in the ring against the big leagues. He''ll be woefully out of his depth. You can "believe" in Khan all you want. Il go by what i see with my own eyes. I dont see a world beater and i dont see a world class talent. And for the record Casa is an old fighter thats not disputable. If this fight was a prime Casamayor there wouldnt even be a debate. The only reason why there is is because of Casamayors age. That being said Cas still has the skills chin and tools to deal with Khan handily.
Scurla, if Khan uses the same tactic as he did against Kotelnik how do you see this fight panning out? What does Casamayor do to overcome the speed, movement and reach disadvantage?
That wont work. Casamayor is a savvy counter puncher. Khan is not. Khan will likely be the aggresor. Either way it matters not as apart from his flurrys and fast hands he wont get Casamayors respect unless he plants his feet. Thats not a good idea because Khan is sooo fragile and still looks fragile in the cup when he covers up. Additionally Khans foot work and movement are poor. He doesnt use the ring well and doesnt cut it off when stalking his opponent. This for me is a relatively easy fight for Casamayor with all the advantages in his court. Casamayor can also fight dirty and could choose to take Khan into the trenches by staying in the cup. Its unlikely as Casamayor only fires back when pressured but he has alot of options here due to Khans huge lack of experience and inate talent.
