You sure you have the right Conteh? Check out fight where he beat Ahumada to win belt in elimination. Did you see him late in carreer?
There was only one Conteh. I can see why his countrymen would like him but his style was boring to us audiences which I was one. Just not an exciting fighter to watch.
Can't argue about someone personally finding a certain fighter boring, but who are you speaking for here?I've come across plenty of Americans on here and otherwise who enjoyed watching him fight.It was hardly a strong consensus opinion of the time.
I've been watching boxing since the early 70's along with a dozen or more of my fellow American friends. All of us without exception would always question whether to spend the time watching Conteh back in the day. One round would lead to another....nothing ever exceptional or exciting going on.
