Yeah thats what I've been saying. The inactivity shouldn't affect Fury, well it could because im not Fury but from what I've seen from him it shouldn't. Regardless i dont think Fury is going to fight Joshua a year and a half out, because the way he's been talking it seems like he definitely wants a tune up.

In that case I wonder why he said nothing about this in December and why he hasn't just gotten a tune up. There's been plenty of time.

It didn’t happen because Fury wanted the fight as part of his guaranteed ESPN contract and wanted essentially millions for a fight with Kabayel in UK which top rank said should be out of contract as ideas nothing for them and Frank Warren couldn’t find the money to put that on PPV and no fans.

If fury had fought someone they could sell it may have worked but he wasn’t interested in that and wanted a Schwarz/Kabayel type fight.

he’s shot himself in the foot by being greedy as he could have got out in a tickover.

Fury often says he’s got enough money etc and isn’t motivated by that. It makes me wonder if he would be happy picking up his $80m from another easily winnable fight and the Wilder trilogy which again is massively in his favour and going out undefeated and claiming to be this generations greatest heavyweight without ever facing AJ.

Fury and family have often ridiculed AJ but sugar hill said recently it’s a dangerous fight and I often wonder if fury could cave in a massive fight like that given his melt down when he got popped for steroids

Which is precisely what Tyson Fury has been saying actually.
He wants a fight this summer.
It's already the end of March. He wants a date and venue for the AJ fight, or else he had good reason to believe the promoters are failing him.

They are all to blame for this, they are all too greedy. They expect a certain sum to be guaranteed by a site, or they won't make the fight.
Arum, Hearn, Fury, Joshua, they're all very greedy.

Well, his promoters obviously informed him December would require him fighting for small money, or they couldn't be bothered to work it at all with the pandemic lockdowns. He probably should have fought anyway, but who knows.

As for "there's been plenty of time". There really hasn't. Fury was obliged to fight Wilder and they were trying to make that fight for several months when the restrictions were eased late last summer, but Wilder wanted out, or the pandemic issues caused the problems. The contract expired, or not, but they look elsewhere.

Since around December, the promise of the AJ fight has been hanging there, and Arum was talking about it taking place in April originally, (or alternatively Wilder II for March/April). It keeps getting put back.
That's precisely why Fury is so frustrated. I think he was willing to wait for an April/May date with AJ, now it's going to be late June/early July at the earliest, and that seems increasingly unlikely.

The vague fight date keeps getting put back and back, so Tyson Fury's thinking "****, I just want a fight" .... but if he goes out of desperation and lines up a fight for the summer against a B-level opponent in front of a crowd of 200 people or whatever, people will jump on him and say "he ducked Joshua !" ..... it's ridiculous.
They need to announce a date right now. Close the deal.
People just expect Fury to wait until August or September or October or November ?

    Yeah, and he didn't.
But does that mean he has to wait indefinitely for the AJ fight.
He made a mistake in not getting a fight in this winter, but how long should he wait now for the promoters to set up the AJ fight ?
This has been going on for months.

Fury is old school in many ways, he understands the sport and knows how important activity is. For all his bravado, I agree - he knows Joshua is going to be a huge challenge.

I agree with you. I would go further to say if they don’t face each other in their next fight it won’t happen. For some reason the Fury’s don’t want it which is a poor look on their part.

The contract has been signed, percentages agreed etc all they are trying to do is secure a location and date for June/ July. Yet Fury want to move on and not take the fight. What does that tell you?

Yeah, as you say they all want to milk for all it's worth so I don't understand what the fuss is about? I've haven't seen anything that says it won't be this summer. That things were going to be a bit uncertain has been a given all along. It was fully predictable already in December that a date and venue wouldn't be set yet in Match, so I don't understand what's changed really.

I've never seen April mentioned. All the talk I've seen has been about the summer. I could of course have missed April being mentioned, but the the main predictions I've heard has been about the summer. Which has seemed far more realistic the whole time.

And who says that July is increasingly unlikely?

If a tune-up is a big worry for a fight of this massive magnitude, then they should have scheduled one in January at the latest even if the money was small.

Bob Arum was talking about April in interviews late last year.
I presume he was saying the same thing to Tyson Fury.

With every day that the fight goes unannounced, it becomes less likely. Or am I being too skeptical ?
What date will you expect the fight to be announced if it's taking place in early July ?
    The clock is ticking.

He should have fought in December but he didn't.
But, of course, this AJ fight has been "in negotiation" since early January, so there's been no scheduling of anything.

I hope it does get set for late June / early July, as they said a couple of weeks ago.
But that needs to be announced very soon.

You have more faith in things than me, I think. That's all.
For some reason, i just think it's very uncertain at this stage.
I know Fury-Wilder fights were announced very late but this one's got me wondering. All the talk of "site fees", like they've got some huge number in mind that no one has quite come up with yet.
    We shall see.
