  1. GOD DAMN Valuev is a big hairy *******. I have to adjust my eyes every time I see a picture of this guy, I feel like I'm looking at a large zoo animal.

Props to Ruiz for having a decent career and for not choking on Valuev's sweaty fur.

Exactly. And one with nowhere close the granite chin as Haye followers claim now. The younger version of the now 38 year year old Ruiz was packed away in round 1 over fourteen years ago by Tua. Decked twice be Golota and also floored by none other than 5"11 fattie midget James Toney.

The Brits celebrating over Ruiz reminds me of the many old bums the German hometown "champs" fought. Ottke and Maske etc. beat so many 35+ year old have-beens you could probably fill a geriatric clinic with them. It looks good on paper, makes the hometown fans happy and proud but in actual reality means very little.

Ruiz should have retired after he was schooled by Jones. He probably was the worst paper belt holders of the last 15 years.

He ducked plenty. After Tua disposed of him there is a decided dearth of punchers on his resume. In 14 years from Tua to Haye there's only Rahman, who was a two-time loser by then, and old Andrew Golota, who knocked him down twice.

In any other era Ruiz would be known by one simple and definitive name: Journeyman. A fighter of average skills who got a sweetheart deal and way too many shots at a tarnished title. A little tidbit. After Ruiz lost to Roy Jones in one of hte most embarassing displays of heavyweight futility in history, his next fight was for the interim title. And the fight after that was for the WBA title, again....after, of course, Roy Jones put the belt where it belonged...in the trash.

you forgot one thing although he doesnt ***** about getting robbed, shitted on, and all that. but he bitches in the ring the whole time. No one questions the guys toughness, the guys willingness to fight anyone. But the guy is a ****ing cry baby in the ring and would rather hug than box or fight. and if it wasnt for the WBA, you would not even see him on tv. 11 or 12 WBA fights? any reason he hasnt fought for the WBC, IBF, WBO?
Ive watched boxing a long ****ing time, seen a ton of fights, live fights when they count, been to arenas, fought amateur, i know pro boxers...and i can tell you, most pros feel the same way about ruiz as the idiot public you mention.

BUT, wait, u do look like u are... a HATER, that is.... it's alright, u DO know the guy was/is incredibly underrated.... I'm pretty sure u "appreciate" the exciting style of guys like Hopkins, Mayweather, Klitschko (x2), and Pancho Cara 'e Queso among a few others.

    wrong.
a hater is a person who hates on someone because they simply dont like him.

    i dont hate ruiz

    i hate his style

    i hate the WBA

why do you train 12 weeks to go into a fight and hold for 12 rounds? fight after fight after fight.
    underrated? dont see your point

    ps

and all those you mentioned above are just as brutal to watch.......they dont get a pass...but its john ruizs day...dont take that away from him

If you seriously consider these guys pros for hating on him because of his style then here's confirmation for you that these guys aren't pros and not close to it. The man came back from a first round KO to Tua, such KOs ruin fighters permanently, mentally ruin them or physically. The guy comes back and even though applies an ugly style to survive and keep pushing the point any fan that knows the sport would note is his ability to forget that and still push hard enough to win a legitimate world title. Even though he got a lot of hate for his ugly style he did drop that late in his career and was the one to mix it up with Valuev if you didn't see that fight properly.
