Do you think Froch wants to fight AA again?? Or Hennesey wants that fight. It sells to nobody. Also before the fight on satruday if you had asked 100 Super Middleweights who would they rather face Abraham or Johnson they would have all said Johnson.
Yeah but this isn't before Saturday...it's after Saturday. I don't know the answer to this but are Showtime obliged to pay a certain TV sum to the fighters in the semi-finals, regardless of how tasty the fight is? I would expect they are and the US TV money must be the lion's share of Froch's income anyway. How disasterous would Froch-Abraham II be for him financially, wouldn't it be worth it for another easy night's work in the ring? Best scenario for Froch would have been he lines up against Abraham, Abraham pulls out, Froch gets a free pass to the final and in the interim takes an easy defence at home in Nottingham whilst Sky hype him up and hype up the Super Six Final into a big PPV event. That is what a good promoter would angle for. Froch is 33, he could do without a war against Glen Johnson and Glen Johnson will come to fight.
I believe Lou DiBella already had that situation sorted out anyway... Allan Green would step into the semi finals against Carl Froch as Abraham's replacement :deal
The decision about how the fighters are put into the semi finals and tiebreakers were made before the tournement. There was no fixing. Froch vs Johnson can be sold to Sky or ITV who have shown severall of his fights before. The AA rematch would not sell.
